Night Vision Walk inside the rain In a sphere of night; Stand inside the wind, Breathe in dark delight. There is no pain (Look the world in the face) There is no sin (Look the world in the eye) The sun will race But give her time And the moon will fly. Seven sins and seven virtues Seven strangers in my heart; My coat blows out behind me And my masks all fall apart. We paint our faces for the light, We think we fool them all somehow, But after dark, it's only textures Under low, embracing clouds. When I open the door (Don't look them in the face) I am watching the ground (Don't look them in the eye) Though the sun did race Across these skies The moon still flies. --Megan Morris, meikundayo@yahoo.com
