*---*---*---*---*
Always with the damn teasing.
With that *voice* and the stuff he says and... Robin can’t help it. It’s not his fault that sometimes he blushes when Slade says his name, just anger coiling hot through his blood and if he thinks about it at night, it’s only to plan for the next confrontation.
Robin doesn't tease back, not really, but he does sometimes wonder what would have happened if he had. If he'd... played along.
Would Slade have kept teasing? Or would something else have happened?
He is -- almost -- entirely uncertain what he would have done if Slade had stopped teasing.
But Slade always just plays with him. Never takes him seriously. There are other reasons, better reasons, to be angry with him than that.
Robin bites his lip and forces himself to focus enough to yell "Titans, go!" and most emphatically *not* think about the purring laugh in Slade's voice and the promise in the way he stands.
The man’s just a fucking tease, and teases never come through with their promises.
