Domoto Kyoudai 4.25.2004

Guest: Aya Matsuura

I'll concentrate on the "ichimon ittou" (one question, one answer) segment, as that's the main thing in the show and what people would be most interested in. In case anyone doesn't know the cast, here you go. For a picture, click here.

Kouichi: The guy from the KinKi Kids with the dyed hair, he sits on the guest's left.
Tsuyoshi: The other guy from the KinKi Kids, he has the longer, dark hair. He sits on the guest's right.
Takamizawa: [AKA Takami for the purpose of this page] The guitar player from The Alfee who looks like a Japanese Geddy Lee. Big hair, big nose, flashy clothes and sunglasses. He's been around awhile, though he doesn't look 50 or whatever he is. He sits in the back row in the middle.
Yoshimura: The woman from Puffy. She tries to keep order this time.
Tom: The guy sitting in the back with the dyed hair and wearing a Hawaiian shirt. You may recognize him as the voice of the fathers in "Tokkaekko".

Kouichi: Today's guest is Aya Matsuura, pleased to meet you.
Aya: Pleased to meet you.
Kouichi: We got a new set.
Aya: Yes.
Kouichi: That part is round now.
Kouichi: Well that's not all...
Kouichi: Our first guest to our new set is Aya Matsuura.
Aya: Yes.
Kouichi: Last time, Takamizawa kept succumbing to you!
Takami: She kept getting me with that.
Tsuyoshi: Afterwards, we went for yakiniku and Takami said "she was cute."
Tsuyoshi: He was really serious.
Kouichi: He succumbed to your wink.
Aya: Thank you.
Takami says something with his hand over his mouth, I couldn't tell what it was.
Tsuyoshi: He had kal-bi sticking out of his mouth.
Kouichi: Domoto One Question, One Answer!
Kouichi: Let's begin, Domoto "one question one answer!"
Announcer: Question for Aya Matsuura.
Aya: OK.
Announcer: Are you feeling cheerful?
Aya: Yes I am!
Announcer: You're always the best.
Aya: Thank you.
Announcer: Currently, what about you can you brag about the most?
Aya: I can inhale very deeply through my nose and make my nostrils squeeze up.
Announcer: Can you please do it for us?
Aya: Alright, here I go.
Aya: Can you do it?
Yoshimura: I can't do it.
Announcer: Thank you very much.
Announcer: When did you first perform this?
Tom: It's a performance?
Aya: At some point I was just able to do it!
Announcer: In all the world, what would trouble you the most if you lost it?
Aya: Lip cream. I can't relax if I don't have 10 minutes to put it on.
Kouichi: I hate lip cream.
Tsuyoshi: I hate it.
Aya: Why?
Tom: No one asked you!
Yoshimura: Can we move on?
Kouichi: Sorry.
Announcer: If you were to kiss someone with those lips, who would it be?
Aya: Ehhh...my dog.
Tom: Woof!
Kouichi: She said "my" dog [as in her own dog].
Announcer: What was the happiest news you've heard lately?
Aya: Recently, I was passing by in front of a karaoke place. They said, "Oh, it's Ayaya!" I answered "yes" and they said "you're cute even without any makeup."
Tsuyoshi: That would make you happy.
Announcer: Well then, when do you show people your face without any makeup?
Aya: Typically, when I'm shopping, or when I'm rehearsing for recording sessions. Earlier [during rehearsal for the Domoto Kyoudai Band performance], I wasn't wearing any makeup right?
Kouichi: What do you mean, earlier?
Aya: During the live performance.
Kouichi: For a different show?
Aya: Yes.
Kouichi: I see...sorry, to tell the truth, I don't remember!
Aya: But I was just talking with Kouichi-san earlier.
Kouichi: Yeah, we did, "thanks for coming to Domoto Kyoudai."
Tsuyoshi: No one talked to me. Like "Tsuyoshi-san,".
Kouichi: He wasn't there.
Aya: No he wasn't.
Tsuyoshi: But behind the set...
Aya: Even though you were sitting right next [to me].
Tsuyoshi: Then who was I talking to?
Announcer: What is the saddest news you've heard recently?
Aya: There's a rumor on the net between the office ladies that I'm 23 years old.
Tsuyoshi: I think it's time you told us [your true age].
Aya: Eh? What do you mean?
Kouichi: I think you should announce it.
Kouichi: How old are you again, Takamizawa-san?
Takami: What are you asking me for?
Takami: People say on the net that I'm 25 years old.
Kouichi: That's the same as us!
Announcer: Do you have a special skill you can do better than anyone else?
Aya: Well, on the bullet train for example, I can talk to the person next to me.
Announcer: Until now, what sort of people have you talked to?
Aya: For example, I speak to drunk older men.
Announcer: Tell us something about you that we can't miss this summer?
Aya: I can't say yet, but I'll do various things.
Kouichi: Seems like she's hiding something.
Tsuyoshi: She's hiding something.
Announcer: For an image change this summer, what would you change first?
Aya: I want to be taller.
Kouichi: You don't need it.
Aya: Well......
Tsuyoshi: What would you do if you turned out like this? [In deep voice] Good morning!
Announcer: Do you have a challenge you want to try and face before you turn 20?
Aya: I want do so......something bad.
Tsuyoshi: What would you do?
Aya: Something that wouldn't trouble the police. Something that's bad but would let me remain in this industry.
Kouichi: What bad thing?
Tom: What are you asking me for?
Tom: Like putting trash out on a day other than collection day?
Tsuyoshi: That's weak.
Announcer: What's the "Ayaya" view of the current world?
Aya: I think we're going through tough times.
Announcer: What [job] would you be doing if you were not an idol?
Aya: A truck driver.
Announcer: What type of truck do you want to drive?
Aya: A really gaudy one!
Kouichi: A decorated truck eh?
Aya: One where you pull it and it goes "beeep!"
Kouichi: Did you know there's a game for decorated trucks?
Aya: I didn't know.
Kouichi: A video game.
Aya: I didn't know.
Kouichi: It's like you're racing and you shout "Get outta my way! Get outta my way!" [Dokan kai! Ware!]
Aya: It sounds cool.
Tsuyoshi: But the Kansai dialect that you hear in the game isn't normal. It's annoying.
Takami: It is?
Tsuyoshi: It's "dokan kai! ware!" It's weird to hear someone say that, it's not very good.
Kouichi: "Get outta my way."
Tsuyoshi: "Get outta my way." It's like a new kind of "kaiware" [the sprouts-looking plant you'll see pop up].
Tsuyoshi: Like "kaboom sprouts". [The game said "Dokan kai! Ware!" which is like "get outta my way!". Tsuyoshi's pun is "dokan" is the Japanese explosion sound effect and "kaiware" is that sprouts-looking plant.]
Takami: So it's wrong.
Announcer: Now, where do you want to go the most?
Aya: Somewhere I can relax.
Yoshimura: I'll tell you a place, I'll tell you a place.
Tsuyoshi: Your "aunt" will tell you.
Yoshimura: Yeah, "auntie" will tell you.
Announcer: Please list some foods you like and some you don't like.
Aya: I like Japanese food. Foods I don't like are cauliflower, broccoli, celery and parsley.
Tsuyoshi: That's not good.
Aya: I don't like green things with strong flavors.
Aya: I don't like that they just spring up.
Announcer: Then, what is something you like so much you can't get enough of lately?
Aya: The smell between the parts of my dog's paws.
Tom: Woof!
Kouichi: She said "my" dog.
Announcer: Then, what is your bad habit you can't stop no matter how hard you try?
Aya: When I take off my shoes and go into someone's house, I don't like walking barefoot, so my toes clench up like this, and I walk on the sides.
Kouichi: I think I get it.
Aya: You understand? I'd hate to get anything on my feet too.
Tsuyoshi: Like chlorine or something.
Aya: Yeah.
Announcer: What very useful thing have you bought recently?
Aya: Calorie comsuming socks.
Yoshimura: What's that?
Aya: They exist. It said just by wearing them, if you walk an hour, you consume 399 calories.
Kouichi: How many calories do you consume walking normally for an hour?
Aya: But just walking for an hour, you'll lose some calories.
Kouichi: Won't it be about the same if you don't wear them?
Aya: Maybe.
Announcer: Have you noticed the effects of wearing the socks?
Aya: Well I feel like it...
Announcer: If you could take a week, or a month off, what would you do?
Aya: I think for a week, I would go on a trip with my family. If I got a month, I'd worry, "Matsuura, are you ok?"
Kouichi: You're the worrying type.
Tsuyoshi: I would be like "Kya ha ha ha ha!"
Kouichi: "All right, a vacation! A vacation!"
Aya: I think I would be worried if everything was OK.
Announcer: What do you normally do when you're home alone?
Aya: Mostly housecleaning.
Announcer: When cleaning, what would people notice?
Aya: That I understand what I'm doing.
Announcer: What do you wear when cleaning?
Yoshimura: How unpleasant.
Kouichi: This is turning into sexual harassment.
Aya: I wear a jersey.
Announcer: What is something that is priceless to you?
Aya: My futon.
Aya: My scent is all absorbed into it.
Kouichi: You're obsessed with yourself!
Everyone talks simultaneously.
Kouichi: That's not it. I'M not the one thinking that.
Announcer: Then, what type of futon do you sleep in?
Aya: What type of futon?! A thin, pink futon.
Announcer: It's been a year since you were last on this show. In that time, what have you experienced for the first time?
Aya: Umm, when performing live, I sang while holding my mic upside down.
Kouichi: You came to the futon for your "first experience".
Yoshimura: You're making this [show] dirty. Let's tr and be more refreshing.
Kouichi: What's the matter? Can't humans can think what they want!
Yoshimura: Don't say them out loud. She's got an image [to protect].
Tsuyoshi: Well well...
Tom: Keep your "inocchi" quiet. [It's not in any of my dictionaries, but I think it's like "dirty thoughts".]
Kouichi: It's "inocchi" right? Not "Nocchi" [the guy in the picture that pops up.]
Announcer: How do you want to act in front of a man you like?
Aya: I just want to act natural.
Announcer: What song has changed your life?
Aya: Hikaru Genji-san's "Paradise Galaxy".
Tsuyoshi starts humming it. Everyone else joins in.
Takami starts humming something else. The song title is "My blue bird" by Junko Sakurada.
Everyone else: No! No! No!
Announcer: How did that song change your life?
Aya: I think I was just two or three years old...
Takami: Two or three years old!
Aya: And I saw them on TV-
Takami: Two or three years old!
Aya: Singing while on roller skates, it looked like they were having a lot of fun. I thought "I want to be like that too."
Tsuyoshi: "A lot of love-"
Takami: Just two or three years old!
Tsuyoshi: "-packed into my suitcase."
Takami: Two or three years old?
Kouichi: You were two or three years old.
Aya: Yes.
Announcer: And now, please respond to the following words using one word.
Aya: OK.
Announcer: Aya Matsuura.
Aya: Enigma.
Announcer: Karaoke.
Aya: Monitor.
Announcer: Youth.
Aya: Right in the middle.
Announcer: Transformation.
Aya: Sailor Moon.
Announcer: Marriage.
Aya: I want to do it someday.
Announcer: Summer.
Aya: Helium!
Kouichi: Helium?
Announcer: Cooking.
Aya: If you're a girl, you should learn how to.
Announcer: Fireworks.
Aya: Kaboom!?
Announcer: Desserts.
Aya: I like them.
Announcer: Tokyo.
Aya: Tokyo, city.
Announcer: And now, please list ten things you like about yourself.
Aya: Eh? Eyes. Small nose. The beauty mark on my upper lip. Always cheerful. Candid. I think of my family. I like cleaning. I'm good at massage. What next...I live at my own pace. One more, right? One more...I like my job.
Announcer: Next, even if it's impossible, please list three things you don't like about yourself.
Aya: Eh?
Yoshimura: That's difficult.
Aya: Things I don't like about myself?
Tsuyoshi: Beeep!
Aya: Ummmmmmmm...
Takami: What "ummmmmmm"?
Announcer: Aya Matsuura, thank you very much.

By the way, not all of the interview made it on the air. For the complete interview, see the official homepage, though it'll probably only be there until the next show. 1
