There's Zelgadis, a mysterious Chimera (1/3 human, 1/3 Golem, and 1/3 demon) whose first meeting with Lina isn't so pleasant, but ends up joining her to find the cure to turn him back into human.
Xellos, an even more mysterious Trickster Priest, in search of the Legendary Claire Bible Manuscripts for unknown reasons.
Sylphiel, Gourry's childhood best friend, a master of White Magic and the Dragon Slave, journeys with our Heros to try to impress her not-so-secret love Gourry.
And finally Martina, who isn't only the comic relief in the series, who is also a Princess, but from the Land of Zona. She was first out on revenge on Lina for destroying her kingdom, but now follows until she meets the lucky guy!
