Last time, Hayla decided to become a Pokemon master. Accompanied by Trent, a fire trainer from Viridian, Hayla, Trent, and Hitmonlee head to Mt. Moon.
After wandering in Mt. Moon for an hour, the group finally found a Clefairy. However, this Clefairy didn't look well.
"The poor thing is so weak." Hayla said, "I'll capture it and heal it. Pokeball, go!"
Hayla threw a pokeball at Clefairy, who entered it too weak to struggle.
"Prepare for trouble!" exclaimed a boy's voice.
"Make it double!" shouted a girl's voice.
"To protect the world from devastation!" yelled the boy.
"To unite all peoples within our nation!" added the girl.
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!" the boy shouted.
"To extend our reach to the stars above!" the girl yelled.
Then, two people emerged from the darkness into full view.
"Ringo!" the boy yelled.
"Star!" the girl exclaimed.
"Team Rocket blats off at the speed of light!" Ringo shouted.
"Surrender now or prepare to fight!" Star yelled.
"That's right!" added a Ratacate as it jumped between Ringo and Star.
Ringo and Star were 16. They wore traditional Team Rocket uniforms. Ringo was tall with bight green hair that stuck out in random points. Star had fuchsia hair similar to Hayla's, but less fancy.
"That Clefairy was going to be ours!" Ringo hissed.
"Let's teach them a lesson!" Star shouted.
"Pokemon battle!" they yelled together.
"Here we go!" cried Hayla and Trent.
Hayla sent Hitmonlee into battle, while Trent released Growlithe. Ringo released a Weepinbell, and Star chose Graveler.
"Hitmonlee, Hi Jump Kick Now!" shouted Hayla.
"Razor Leaf Weepinbell!" yelled Ringo.
The Razor Leaf attack proved to be affective, Hitmonlee summoned its strength and made Weepinbell faint.
"Growlithe, Take Down now!" Trent yelled.
"Graveler, Rock Throw!" commanded Star.
Graveler's Rock Throw missed, but Growlithe didn't. In no time, Graveler had fainted. Just then, Hayla felt something tugging at her bag of pokeballs. It was Ratacate, and it had Clefairy's pokeball.
"Thanks for cooperating." It snickered.
"No! The battle was a trick!" cried Hayla.
"Hit Mon Lee!" screamed Hitmonlee as he used the last of his energy to launch himself at Team Rocket and sent them flying out of the cave.
"Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off! We'll be back!" they shouted as they disappeared in a twinkle of light.
Clefairy's pokeball dropped to the ground as Hayla rushed to scoop it up. She then rushed to Hitmonlee who had fainted.
"Trent, where are you?" shouted Hayla.
"Over here!" Trent replied.
Hayla carried her weary Pokemon over to Trent, because Hitmonlee had no pokeball.
"Here," said Trent, pushing something into Hayla's hand, "it's a Dome fossil. I have a Helix fossil. These can be resurrected into Pokemon like that Amber we found."
"Thanks," replied Hayla, "Look! The exit to the cave! Let's go to the nearest Pokemon center, Hitmonlee is in rough shape.
They charged out of the cave, and hurried to the Pokemon Center. Nurse Joy told them that it would take a while, so Hayla and Trent walked to a grassy area where Hayla trained her Pikachu.
"When you beat this Ratata," Hayla explained, "you will have enough experience to learn Swift Attack.
"Pika!" Pikachu shouted as it fried the Ratata. Pikachu shot up a level, and learned Swift.
"Hayla, you might want to catch this!" shouted Trent. It was a Sandshrew, pumped and ready to battle.
"Squirtle, go! Water Gun!" Hayla cried.
The water weakened it enough to capture it. Hayla and Trent then walked back to the Pokemon Center to pick up Hitmonlee. Hayla used the P.C. to deposit Geodude, Beedrill, Sandshrew, and Pikachu. They left the Cerulean City Pokemon Center and crossed a bridge. Hayla ran into a grassy area where she caught an Oddish and an Abra. Trent waited by a stream and fed his Caterpie enough Rare Candy to evolve into a Metapod.
"I got an Oddish!" Hayla announced triumphantly on her return, "It already knows Absorb, Poison Powder, and I used a TM to teach it Solarbeam. "
"Cool. A few more Rare Candies, and I'll have a Butterfree." Replied Trent.
"I also caught an Abra," Hayla added, "It knows Teleport, but I also taught it Psychic, Mimic, and Metronome."
"Sweet," replied Trent, "You should have no trouble defeating Daisy the Gym leader."
"Bulba!" cried a voice. It was a Bulbasaur who jumped out of the woods and prepared to attack.
"Abra, go! Use Psychic!" Shouted Hayla.
"Aaabra!" it shouted as a psychic wave slammed Bulbasaur into a tree.
"Pokeball, go!" yelled Hayla as Bulbasaur was captured.
"Yes!" shouted Hayla, "Team Rocket, trainers, or Gym leaders, bring em' on!"
Trent shuddered. He knew that they hadn't seen the last of Team Rocket and his secret past was in danger of being revealed.
