Rocketshipping- Rocketshipping is the common belief of Team Rocket fans that Jessie and James love each other, but are too shy to admit it. Hopefully, this section of my page will persuade you to believe this too.
Why I believe that James loves Jessie- This is the easy part. Anyone who has seen the show can tell that James likes Jessie. It’s so obvious that I can’t believe Ash never commented on it. In the Pokèmon Shipwreck episode, James tells Jessie to leave him because he’s too scared to cross the fire (can you blame the poor guy?). Jessie slaps him to his senses, but then her voice softens. She tells him that they will cross together. He looks into her eyes and begs Jessie not to abandon him. She says she won’t leave him, and they look like they’re about to kiss when the twerps interrupt the beautiful moment. Later, when Jessie and James are on the raft presumed dead, they are on top of each other. Ok, so they didn’t have much of a choice, but when everyone’s asleep, James is laying across Jessie’s legs.
Then in the episode the Ghost of Maiden’s Peak, he tells Jessie he doesn’t want to go with the maiden. The old woman (Gastly) tells the twerps and Team Rocket that all young men that pass by the shrine fall under the spell of the maiden. When James fell in love with the maiden, it was love at first sight, but when he had the chance to be captured by the maiden, he passed it up to stay with Jessie. And just an interesting fact, when Jessie is covering James in stickers, there’s one on his bum. How did that get there? Hee hee hee…
Ok, yes, here comes the big one, Holy Matrimony. Every Shipper on the planet knows about this lovely episode. I am proud to say this episode still makes yours truly cry. In this episode, it’s obvious. James could have stayed and inherited a fortune. He could have had anything he wanted, but he left. Sure Jessiebell was a kumquat short of a fruit salad, but just take a look at the balloon scene. I don’t know a single girl who wouldn’t love to be swept off her feet into a balloon by someone as cute as James. Then when he explains that his parents wouldn’t give him his inheritance, he rubs the back of his neck in a nervous sort of way. He’s a little scared of what Jessie might do to him, but she understands and doesn’t even yell at him.
In the Crystal Onix episode, they discuss what they could do with all of the crystal. James daydreams about a crystal tub. Look closely and you’ll see that they’re not wearing anything. Jeez James can you be more obvious?
In the Donphan episode, Jessie explains to the team what she is going to do with all of the amberite. She daydreams about living in a palace and living like a queen, covered in amberite. James comments, “Oooooh! I like the sound of that idea.” It’s obvious. The guy is crazy for Jessie.
Why I believe that Jessie loves James – Ok, I personally hate Ash and Misty. I don’t blame you if you feel the same way and get mad at my next comment. You know there’s some kind of stupid Ash and Misty relationship brewing (It won’t amount to anything) but there is something there. Misty constantly insults Ash, and beats him up. Sound familiar? Jessie beats up James a lot, but think about what her childhood was like. She lost her mother, got rejected from nurse school, and got kicked out of Pokèmon Tech. She’s been rejected her whole life, so who can blame her for being a little rough. But during many episodes, she has shown her soft side too.
In Charmander the Stray Pokèmon, Jessie and James tango when they do the motto. As they recite, James dips Jessie and her face just lights up. In Wherefore Art Thou’ Pokèmon, she tells James about an old boyfriend who betrayed her. It shows the guy dipping her in the same way James did in the Charmander episode. However, if you look at her face when the old boyfriend dips her, she looks sad. She’s much happier when James dips her.
I would like to point out that in Pokèmon Shipwreck before they realize that they’re sleeping under fire, they’re having a dream that they’re lying on a beach. If you’ll notice, Meowth is nowhere to be found. All alone on a beach. Kind of interesting isn’t it? Also they both couldn’t possibly be having the exact same dream, so that means that someone was dreaming about the other and being alone with them on a beach.
In The Ghost of Maiden’s Peak, just when it looks like the end for James, Jessie pulls a giant bazooka out of thin air and blasts the ghost with it. She then says, “Hey girl, you don’t stand a ghost of a chance!” as if she’s preparing for a catfight. Jerry! Jerry! Hmmm…Jessie and the ghost battling it out on Jerry Springer. FANFIC!! Anyway, she then makes up a lame excuse as to why she did it. She says that she hates girls that wait around for a guy that will never come back. So what does that have to do with “You don’t stand a ghost of a chance!”? Also, if you were standing next to your mortal enemies, would you come right out and admit your love to someone? So how could anyone expect Jessie to do that? She’s Jessie!
Other Interesting Things- Ever notice how many times the villains of Sailor Moon have fallen in love? For example, look at Allen and Ann. In their first episode you could tell that they liked each other because they kept getting jealous. Look back at Jessie and James. It’s easy to see the similarities.
