Rei Ayanami was called the first child, because she was the first one who has been choose to drive EVA. rei was a very quiet girl, and never emotional, alone at school, shinji and Asuka were her only friend. She designed operator of Evangelion Unit Zero. She appear in the first episode. Rei is not a human, she is an angel and also clone of Ikari Yui (Ikari's mother) She doesn't like to eat meat.
