Hello, everyone, thank you for visiting my home page. I am creating
this section because some people urged me to have a page for myself and not
someone else (...i.e. Wu-Yin-Liang-Ping), and another reason is....some people
actually think I am one of those two people...haha. So here, I am going to reveal
a little about myself.
I currently live in Taipei, Taiwan. My life is a mixture of Taiwan and
the United States and it's a long story too... I was born in Kaohsiung City,
Taiwan, ROC. In Taiwan, ROC, I used to live in Ling-Ya District of Kaohsiung
City (I live across the street from the Kaosiung City Hall), and I still live
there whenever I go back to Taiwan, ROC. Kaohsiung City (not to be confused with
Kaohsiung County), located in southwest Taiwan, is the second largest city and
the largest sea port in the Republic of China (which mean on the island of Taiwan) with
a population of about 1,845,000. If you want to know more about
Kaohsiung City, click here Kaohsiung City.
However, I moved to the United States when I was 11 years old. I
used to live in the Clear Lake area (around NASA Space Center) of Houston, Texas
when I was in high school (and still live there whenever I go to the United
States). I lived there for 7 years and graduated from Clear Lake High School.
Afterwards, I went to Chicago to study at The
University of Chicago. The University of Chicago is a private school in (of
course) Chicago, Illinois, and it ranks # 14 on the 1998 US News & World
Report college rankings (along with Cornell University and Johns Hopkins
University). The University of Chicago is a really cool school, and Chicago, as
a city, is even cooler (even though Chicago has really crappy Chinatown...or
should I say...Cantonese Town...^_^). I really like it there and it's the first
place I ever stayed that actually snows, and I just love cold weather ^_^.
As you can see, I am really into Chinese music...well...maybe not THAT
into it. I know people are like REALLY into it. Even though I live in the US
for so long, some how I am not into American music at all...in fact, I think my
friends in Taiwan knows more about western music then I do...hehe.. I just like
Chinese music better, don't ask me why, because I don't even know. I always try
to keep in the same pace as Taiwan. So I often try to find out what's new in the
Chinese music world through Chinese newspaper and the Internet. Since I am into
Chinese music, guess what else I like.....Karaoke!!! I like to go to KTV, in
fact, I can stay there for hours and hours. People think I am crazy with
karaoke, but I just like to sing. Also, even though I used to live in the US, I
rarely watch TV (except for weather forecast, so I can know how hot it will be
and what to wear tomorrow ^_^ ). Two things that I watch are....1. Those Chinese
entertainment shows....2. Japanese TV Series. My favorite Chinese entertainment
show is "Super Sunday"...I love that show!! It's soooo funny, and my favorite
Japanese TV Series was "Under the Same Roof", and "Long Vacation"...I really
like that TV series, it made me feel that there is such a warm love that exists
in this world of chaos. "Under the Same Roof" is the only thing that I have ever
seen before that made me cry, I didn't even cry when I saw the "Titanic", but
"Under the Same Roof" is simply too much to handle. As you can see, I am kind of
detached from the American society...hehe. I have been in the US for 8 years,
but I don't know why I am still so attached to Taiwan..... but I guess that's
the way I am and those are the things that I like. Sometimes, even I think of
myself as a strange person. I know people that came to the US about the same
time as I did, or even later than I did, and they are so compatible into the
American world, but not me. So....get the picture of who I am??
Now, let me tell you about something else that is weird about me. Why
do people like basketball so much?? I don't see the point to basketball.....it's
just a game where people fight for one ball so they can throw it into a basket.
OK, take this as an example, if an alien ship comes down to Earth and sees what
those people are doing, they will probably think this planet is full of low
intelligence life forms or something. Sorry is I offend someone...^_^) I think
tennis is a better sport. Even though some people may argue that the aliens will
think we are low intelligent beings hitting an ugly yellow ball back and forth
on an ugly green ground. I think tennis is fun and interesting, but I have
trouble finding people to play with me around here. Most people rather play
basketball or they think I am not good enough for them. Oh, also ice skating is
fun too. I have been roller skating and roller blading since I was little.
However, I first experienced ice skating when our high school orchestra went to
Dallas. A few friends of mine and I went ice skating at the Dallas Galleria.
After that, I just fell in love with ice skating. I hope will have chances to
ice skate at Chicago. OK, I admit, I am a strange person, but I guess everyone
is strange according to other people's standards.
Anyway, I hope you will like my homepage. If you want, you can always
give me suggestions and comments about my homepage....or about my life too ^_^.
Thanks a lot!!!
