If you want Thai letters to be displayed do as follows:
1. Download and install the following two fonts DB ThaiText and FixedDB ThaiText New.
When you've done this you should be able to read the following ÍèÒ¹ä´éäËÁ¤ÃѺ.
Congratulations! You now successfully have Thai fonts installed at your computer :-) You can also use those fonts if you'd like to write a letter in Thai.
What? Do you still have a problem reading the Thai writing in some sites? Well it's because of the way they've written the html-code at those sites. If you want to setup your NETSCAPE Communicator browser for reading Thai in those sites proceed with the following steps:
2. Go to to "Edit" and further on to "Preferences". You should now have a window named "Preferences" opened. In this window click on "Fonts". Now make the following settings:
For the Encoding: Western
Variable Width Font: DB ThaiText Size: 18
Fixed Width Font: FixedDB ThaiText New Size: 11
The screen settings for best viewing
should be High Colour (16 bit), 800 by 600 pixels.
การชมเวบไซด์นี้ที่เหมาะสม
ควรใช้ความละเอียดจอภาพที่ 800 x 600 จุดภาพ,
High Colour (16 bit) สี และใช้โปรแกรม Netscape 4.0
The above is how I've setup my browser. There is of course other solutions that'll work depending on lot of things but I hope you'll get your Netscape to work.
There will still be a few sites were you will not be able to read Thai. :-( The only way I know of on how to read the writing in those sites is to save the pages as text documents and then mark all the text and change font to some Thai font.
If you have problem with your Microsoft Internet Explorer browser then don't bother to contact me, go to Netscapes site instead and get their fabulous browser!
Good Luck!
