Yuffie is a selfish obnoxious brat. Her presence on your team is only so she can steal your materia. She has a certain place in her heart for her home town, and she thinks if she can collect alot of materia, she can make her town better than how it is now. She'd rather steal the materia then work for it. At one point she steals all your materia, and then you have to go through a wheres waldo scene tring to find her.
Yuffies weapons are very powerful, and her limit breaks are pretty helpful too. I personally don't use her much, but it is fun using her, the whole fight becomes a comedy scene with her presence. To find her you have to choose the right options when you fight her on the west continent. She usually hangs out in the forest right before Red XII's home town.
