October 2003

What an amazing trip this was. My friend, Michelle and I, decided one day to pack our bags and travel the world. Where'd we end up?! Europe, of course. :)- As first timers, we decided to take a Contiki tour, where we'd visit London, Paris, and Rome in 12-days. Yup! Yup! We did it in 12-days.

Our first stop was in London, where we ate fish n' chips out of paper bags, and sipped tea with milk. :)-  We shopped at the very fabulous Harrolds. We saw all there was to see, snapping pictures here and there. We even stood outside of Buckingham Palace, waiting for the changing of guards, which took forever, and btw not recommended if you're on a time constraint. We visited West Minster Abby, the Tower Bridge where David Blaine hung on a crane, Piccadilly Circus (the name of my future Dog, excluding the "Circus" part), Stonehenge, the Roman baths, and Big Ben.

Next we took a ferry from the Port of Dover to Paris, the home of PAUL's Bakery. I would return to Paris just for one more éclair. PAUL's is the BEST. You have to taste chocolat chard, it's worth every calorie. Ah...the art was okay. I mean you see one Mona Lisa and you've seen it all. I'm kidding. The Louvre is a maze of wonderful art pieces, in which Shelly and I got lost in, while looking for the crown jewels. We ended up running into the Venus de Milo, and the Boy with Clubbed Feet. You have to wonder what's so special about an armless statue and big feet.

Last, we ended our tour in Rome, where we threw our 3 coins in the famous Trevi fountain, wishing for 1) to return to Rome, 2) to meet an Italian boy 3) to return to Rome to marry an Italian boy. Although we didn't find love, we did return home with some nice leather purses, and a memory to last a lifetime.
