Chapter 2: Amazons, Pandas, Mages, Oh My
Kyoto stopped at the entrance to the Amazon village, her eyes misted over in recollection. For two years, she trained under the tutelage of Xian Pu before finally being accepted into the tribe. If not for the amazons, she would have never met Jusen. Now, she was only a legend, a story to tell children about the tragic story of Jusenkyo.
Genma swung a paw at his currently female son. “Growl . . aargh!” Unfortunately, he forgot that pandas couldn’t talk.
Kyoto’s eyes narrowed in annoyance and she casually batted the panda into a tree. With a sniff, she followed the guide into the village. There was a tournament going on and no trading or buying would commence until after the feast. So she settled herself on the ground next to the Guide and watched the combatants battle for the title of village champion.
She casually assessed the purple-haired girl’s skills. Hmm, good attacks with lots of brute force and strength, but too many openings. Perhaps if her opponent was more aggressive, she might lose. She clapped along with the Amazons as the purple-haired girl knocked her opponent out of the ring.
Elder Kho Lon watched the crimson-haired outsider carefully. She was obviously a martial artist, but her ki was twisted and tangled. And the only outsider she met with a higher ki signature was Happosai. And she wasn’t obviously Happosai.
Then Kyoto heard a cry of outrage. She looked over towards the left and saw Genma eating the first place prize. She moaned, “Why me, what have I done to deserve such treatment from the gods?” But, sensing Ranma getting restless, she walked over to the quivering panda and the angry Amazon.
<<Stupid panda!!>> Xian Pu raged. <<I will skin him for a new rug>> A pale hand grabbed her shoulder and the Amazon turned around. A red-haired outsider stood there, looking apologetic and angry.
<<I am sorry about your prize. The panda is a man cursed by Jusenkyo, perhaps there is a way for him to make reparations>> Kyoto asked. <<A village champion can be merciful to an unworthy opponent such as this fat panda-man>>
Xian Pu smiled deviously. <<Do you know magic?>>
Kyoto shrugged. <<It’s been a while, why do you ask?>>
<<Do you have an anti-love potion?>> The girl looked around embarrassingly. <<There’s a boy in the village who is always annoying me. He ‘loves’ me but I can’t tolorate him. Can you help me out?>>
Kyoto smiled. <<There is something I can do about that.>>
The next day, Kyoto left the Amazon village with a contrite panda in her wake. “We go to Japan now, ne?”
Genma was too busy writing something on a postcard to hear the girl talk. Their plans would have to change because of their incident. He wrote, “Tendo, bring Ranma home from Japan. Don’t mention the engagement, Ranma very dangerous.” He quivered at what Ranma would do if he found out about the Tendos, or the Kuonjis. . .
