Experiment #214: Wrath Incident
In the first series of clones I created, there was #115, also known as Wrath. I had such high hopes for this one. He had the viciousness of Sabertooth and the loyalty of a dog. His powers totally outstripped any of the previous ones. Only one later clone would meet his power level. Unfortunately, he realized that he could easily take me out and use my research to take over the world. Wrath began to plan my destruction in order to further his ends.
First, he tried to subvert the other clones in the second series. I should thank LeBeau for keeping the others of his kind in line. This happens after LeBeau’s return to the fold in Seattle. Unfortunately, Wrath decided that LeBeau would be a threat to his power. By using the same process that turned Nathaniel Essex into Sinister, he effectively sealed away the majority of LeBeau’s powers. The second series managed to defeat him and to seal him away in a time pocket. During this time, Bethany used the lack of security to orchestrate the escape of her and the rest of the clones. Damn her for that…
It was after this incident that Nathaniel
agreed to led the Marauders into the Morlock Tunnels. LeBeau managed to track
the Marauders down but not in time to stop the Massacre. He killed Nathaniel
and helped to save the survivors flee to safe haven. The X-Men are unaware that
it was Nathaniel and not Remy who led the Marauders into the Tunnels and I
doubt that Remy will reveal the truth to his teammates.
Remy apparently
suffered psychic trauma in killing Nathaniel. His powers, barely a fraction of
what they once were, adapted to keep the psychic wound under control. His
telepathic powers have been sacrificed in return for the ability to hide from
my sensors, from any telepaths, and for the ability to kill any telepath who
ventures unwelcome into his mind. Apparently he can move on the Astral Plane
without being noticed and he is aware of anyone who tries to intrude on his
mind.
The remaining
clones have escaped and are at large. Their whereabouts are unknown; they were
never implanted with tracking devices as LeBeau was.
