When you sob in the night, my heart bleeds

I try to soothe you back into pleasant dreams

Yet when you wake, you scream then weep

Why dark secrets do you hide away from me?

An unkind parent? An untrue friend? I am here

You may push me back but I am always near

I can help you conquer your despair, your fears

The pain you hid from me all those long years
