Solid food.

Chris: We are trying Saya out on solid food. She is trying tasteless rice-paste here. Mmmm. Paste.

She is doing well, and eating some of it - but more time is needed to get her excited about food. So far, she has has tea, rice, and fish-stock soup. Guess who has been feeding her...

Chris: Our friends Petar and Tanja had their child (Danail) about a month before us. We thought they might want to hang out. But they were not all that social - I'm not sure they even really knew what each other were... But they were well behaved.

She is always so serious. Compare to strangely happy baby on right.
I like to think she is saving her cognitive abilities to better plan word domination.
We must get one of those strange rolling pillows. That is fine technology. And, no, she cannot pull herself up like that - she was positioned on that pillow purely for your viewing enjoyment

Wurzburg.

Chris: Obara-san, pictured here, is actually the person who introduced Chris and Shizuka, many years ago back in Japan. She came out to see how we were doing, and to see a little of the fatherland. Here we are at the castle in Wurzburg, which is a pretty nice place, if you are into long painful walks up hills.

This is the garden behind the palace in Wurzburg, where we took Obara-san and Saya. Was a nice walk, and lots of flowers to see. Here Saya is visiting some cupids.
The palace again. Must be nice to have lived here.
My favorite view of the castle in Coburg. This is the hill the kids all sled on in the winter. We used to walk up here every week or so, and it is one of the places I'll miss the most in Germany. Coburg really was a nice little town. Wish we had gotten to see more of it.
