静香:ドイツを後にし、クリスの祖父母、実母の住むアメリカ東海岸にあるバージニア州のバージニアビーチを訪れました。 |

Chris: We got to
spend some good time with Saya's grandmother, who was eager to teach her
all kinds of new things and get her some toys, including her favorite
duck and a great book that plays annoying songs Saya loves to bang on
(the first of many such loud annoying toys that Saya is sure to love as
well). Note the
look of extreme pride on the grandmother's face. |

Saya. She was a little scared of Dick for a while, but she got used to
him in the end. I think it's probably best she be a little bit leery of
old sailors at first, we'll encourage that behavior. |

静香:クリスの両親宅を訪問しました。 |

Chris: Pictured here
is the garage sale dolphin that Chris rescued, which then became Saya's
favorite toy. That being the case, Chris managed to leave it in a sushi
restaurant. Luckily, she is not old enough to develop any real
connections to anything yet, so she quickly forgot about it. Chris,
however, still feels guilty. |

And this is the first picture of her sitting up all by
herself, we think. This was the "really wanting to sit up by herself,
and frustrated because she can't" period. That was followed by the
"wants to crawl but can't" period, then followed by the "wants to stand,
but can't" period. See the pattern here? I look forward to the "wants to
date guys with nipple rings, but can't" period with baited breath. |
