Accidents
A collection of 206 accidents with report from driver if possible. This will help us to understand the 206 more and tell us what is right and what is NOT. I will keep note of the car colour to see if this is a safety factor.

Car colour: Blue Santorin
I had an accident with my 206 and I have avoided 4 accidents so far but I’ll write the one that actually happened to me.
Here in Greece our roads are quite slippery and don't offer much traction. I have a 1.4 XT 5Door model and my factory tires were 175/65 R14 Goodyear GT2E's ..So I'm on the road now and going to take a wide right (on a 4 lane street) corner with around 100km/h and being on the all-left lane I see some water while taking the corner on the road and decide to lift. I'm now going with 80km/h over the water and it starts heavy under steer (I'm now pressing the gas pedal) .. I'm now changing lanes from total right to total left.. I decide to lift to induce overseer and get it back so I can continue in the straight that comes ahead .. Indeed it gets in it's course but when the car stabilizes on the straight and stops it's leaning from the corner I had just took the right spring or absorber pulled the car back so strongly (stock equipment that it started doing weight transfers.. I tried to handle the situation with the steering and gas always floored to get me out of there asap and the car started to do it's own stuff turning and diving one right, one left with more force (I got afraid because I knew I'm gonna crash on some barriers) and I think I lifted the gas pedal (I'm now on dry asphalt I've left the corner with the water.. the tires are still wet though) and now a beautiful 180 and off with the rear to a traffic column .. I thought I was gonna die fortunately it turned 180 degrees and destroyed the back of the car along with it's wheels and the right front wheel that hit on some cement .. It must be around 4.000$ damage..
The
color of my car is blue Santorin as it's called here but it may differ from the
names of your colour there.. It's the same color blue 106 rally uses. I
also had another accident when I left a 90 degrees closed corner off to some
gravel and cut the air conditioning rubber pipe that in my opinion is very low
to the ground .. It took me around 120$ to fix it and refill with freon..
Thanks

Car colour: Firedance.
I
crashed my car because I was trying to avoid collision with another car, which
changes lane suddenly. I managed to avoid that stupid car but the inertia rolled
the car frame to one side and the suspension system simple exceeds its limit,
resulting in a spin. Although I managed to get some control back, the car
continues to slide sideway and crashed into the roadside. I won't say the 206
behave in a bad way, but it certainly shows unexpected behavior. My old Suzuki
Swift Gti never loss control like that.
Both the right front and rear wheels of my 206 got detached from the car and the
entire suspension system is gone! What a sight! Peugeot (HK) estimated the
repair cost to be HK$120,000 so it's better to write it off.
Even better, I think you should consider adding an 'crash' section in the club
homepage. I am certain Peugeot (HK) will be willing to help you get some
stunning photo :)
I would recommend all 206 owners pay extra attention when trying to change lane
suddenly while crusing at high speed. The rear suspension system is bound to
give you a surprise - it's like it got a mind of it's own. In addition, I also
recommend all owners to dump the factory fitted Pirelli P6000 tire. P6000 does
not work well with 206 ... maybe I should have got a set of Yokohama AVS tires
instead...
