After studying in Lingnan College.....                 Vincent Cheng

To be frank, I thing I am a lucky one as Lingnan College gave me a chance to study there at the time that I was going to work with study. Undoubtedly I need to say "thank you" to my God. However , the life there is not as fantastic and happy as I previously excepted.. Maybe now I still don't know how to enjoy my tertiary school life.

Now, let me tell you what are about the studying life in Lingnan College. Normally, every student spends 20 hours for attending both lectures and tutorials per week as other universities' students do. Then, compared with that of secondary schools, the students' homework is not very heavy. Basically, the year one students have to finish one to two papers and presentations every term(2 terms per year). The above seem to us that the student are very free and comfortable. Perhaps it is the reason why so many students have part time job.

Sometimes I feel embarrassed when so many friends and relatives always regard us (with Frankie) as university students. Now let me make one clarification: Lingnan College hasn't changed to university yet, so we aren't university students as well. However, some students wouldn't like to be seemed as tertiary students since the educational status of Lingnan College is in fact higher than that of other institutes namely 樹仁 and 科技學院(it's not my will). Thus, so far, I still haven't found perfect word to identify the College students.

Another clarification I try to make is that the College hostel is still under construction. So no student lives in the College until on January in 1997 (the finishing date).

To sum up, even though feeling a little bit bored, I think it is worth to spend three years studying there and even other universities. The syllabus can really make me broaden my sight and space of thinking(but still small).

Wish friends who take HKAL and HKCE this year can be crowned with success!!
