With bleeding heart I decided to quit the Jebsen company in 1977 after having served on "Emma Jebsen" right from start at her construction in 1972.
However, - the future with Jebsen looked not too promising since more and more of their ships were sold, - and no newbuildings were planned.
Therefore, - when I suddenly got a good offer from USA which I could not refuse, I took a quick and necessary decision, and started a new and very different life at sea on chemical tankers in World Wide trade, - far from the China Coast which in the late sixties and seventies had become like a second home for me.

But the "Emma Jebsen"?????
What happened to her????
She continued in service for Jebsen about two more years until 1979, when it was her turn to be sold.
She also got a new name, - "Triumph" -, which in the same year was changed again to "Triumph Orient".
Under this name she operated until 1983, when she once again was sold and renamed  "Zuhal K".
In 1990 she changed name for the last time and became "Su Xin" - - - -

The end of "Emma Jebsen" , - now "Su Xin" -, came on March 8th. 1998, when she was finally scrapped in Mumbai, India after 26 years of service on the great oceans of the World.
