Anime Q&A | ||||
Q: What makes japanese anime different from american ones? A: Japanese animated cartoons were created for many differnt age groups other than children. American cartoons focused their attention on younger viewers, and movies on the older croud. Japan has much fewer movies than any other country. Q: Why doesnt japan have many movies with real actors? A: Japan is known for its high imagination as far as their works. Also its violence and nudity contents make most of their works hard to make as an actual movie. Its hard enough to find appropriate voice actors, but to find real actors with the appropriate voice is much more difficult. Q: Most anime has little or no japanese looking characters. Why? A: The way the characters are drawn in anime and manga are known as the phenomenon of anime. Most viewers are drawn to the unique ways characters are drawn. One phenomenon is the stunnind hair styles and colors. Most hair styles used in anime are to make characters more unique , and are easier to tell apart. Many styles are exaggerated beyond the laws of physics with its spiking and standing on end. Also hair colors used such as green, blue, purple and pink are not pleasaant to see on a normal person, but somehow, makes most charaters, especially females, more attractive. Many people wonder, if japanese people have slender eyes, why do their drawings have large eyes. Beleive it or not, large eyes in animated works give characters a more friendly look, and females look more femimine. Most evil characters have slender eyes because it gives them a more cold and unfriendly look to them. Q: Most anime that has nude scenes has no hair on their body except for their head, Why is that? A: In japan, many years ago, it was illegal to show pubic hair in pictures and animated works. Any person who played in a movie had to shave their entire body except for facial hair. This law was relaxed as far as live photos. But until recently, animated shows had to be without any type of hair reguardless of age. Even now, most animators don't draw body hair due to people complaints. Q: Since anime has no japanese looking characters, how can we tell the difference between a japanese and an american show? A: American artists are mimicing japanese works, so it is getting hard to tell who made it by looking at the show. However, their are ways to tell shows apart if you know how. 1) First. take a look where the show takes place. True many titles take place in another planet, or in space. However, like american shows take place in the United states, japanese shows take place in japan. 2) Most japanese anime uses traditional japanese culture in their works. An example would be the use of chopsticks instead of spoons. 3) Most japanese works have the japanese language included in their dvds. 4) Look in the back cover, or the credits if your watching TV or cable. If u see japanese names such as Kosuke Fujisima or Tsuyoshi Yoshida, its most probably japanese. 5) Most anime uses japanese instead of english names. |
