Silver Night

~ Haruka ~

Dark clouds left the moon glowing with silver hoops, and the cool summers wind blew through my short hair. Roses twined up the bark of the wood, in the dark forest which Michiru and I stood. We came to a clearing, and the song of the violin filled my soul, sad and slow, moving up to the moon. I leaned back against the tree I was closest to, closed my eyes, and listened. Every strain was a smile, a tear, a bitter memory, a ray of hope. The scent of the flowers filled my memories, and for a moment, I felt a happiness that I had never felt before. When I opened my eyes, the world was just as dark as before, but the roses and moon seemed to shine with an inner light. Feeling a bit cold, I closed my eyes again, feeling starlight against my soul. The wind howled, and the song filled the earth. I smiled.
