"Why do I love Heero? He's so cold and distant. He spends all of his time on his stupid laptop. He never has anytime for fun. But yet, he means the world to me. I can't stop thinking about him. It hurts so much because I know Heero could never love me. He's always pulling my braid, giving me 'omae o korosu' glares, and calling me a loud-mouthed baka. He doesn't know it, but every time he does something like that he breaks my heart."
Duo closed his journal with tears in his eyes. He put it back in his hiding place and wiped his eyes. He plastered one of his smiles on his face and walked out to the kitchen where the rest of the guys were getting ready to eat.
"Thought you'd never show up Duo," said Quatre, putting all the food on the table.
"Me! Miss a meal! You gotta be kidding!" Duo sat down and immediately started piling food on his plate, careful not to look at Heero. He didn't want to be reminded of what he would never have. Slowly he got the feeling that someone was staring at him. He looked up. It was Heero.
"Why is Heero staring at me?" Duo asked himself. "Maybe he does like me!"
"Are you going to save some for the rest of us Duo?" asked Heero. Duo's smile wavered a bit. "Oh, yeah. Sorry," said Duo sheepishly. He gave the bowl to Heero.
"Baka," said Heero under his breath. Duo looked down at his plate. Quatre saw this and got a puzzeled look on his face. "I wonder what's wrong with Duo?" he thought.
Suddenly Duo looked up and started talking with his mouth full. "Hey guys! There's going to be a carnival in town that opens tomorrow! Why don't we go? It would be tons of fun. There are rides, and games, and food, and all sorts of stuff! Come on, we haven't done anything fun in a long time! Please!!" Duo put on his patented puppy dog face.
Quatre smiled. "Guess I was worrying about nothing," Quatre said to himself. "Sounds like fun to me. What do you think Trowa?"
Trowa looked down at his lover. Personally he was sick of carnivals and circuses and stuff like that, but how could he say no to Quatre. "Sounds great," he said with a smile.
"Great!" said Duo. "We'll all go to the carnival tomorrow then!" Duo went back to eating happily. "Is it okay if I bring someone with us?" asked Heero.
"Who?" asked Quatre. They didn't know anybody around here.
"Just this girl I met yesterday. She wanted to go to the carnival and I asked her if she would like to go with me. So she can just come with all of us, if that's okay," Heero said blushing.
Quatre smiled. "That would be great." He stood up to start taking the dishes to the sink when he noticed something running past him.
He looked back over his shoulder and saw Duo running towards his room.
Duo ran into his room he shared with Heero and flopped on his bed. "How could he do this to me?" he wondered. "Doesn't he know he's breaking my heart! I always knew that he could never love me, but there was always the hope that he would in the back of my mind. That was the only thing that kept me going! And now it's gone."
Duo grabbed his pillow and started hitting it. "That's for pulling my braid!" he whispered angrily to himself. "And that's for calling me a baka!" He stopped for a second and then let loose with one last punch. The pillow burst in half and feathers started flying everywhere.
"And that's for breaking my heart," he said quietly. Then he laid down and
started sobbing quietly into the covers.

Pretty dumb huh. Oh well. I'm going to start working on the next part as soon as I have some kind of idea. If you have any tell me. I have absolutly no idea where I'm going with this.
