Open Arms

by Lilock

Lying beside you, here in the dark. Feeling your heart beat with mine.

Duo lay quietly in Heero's arms. The battle ahead seemed to be the biggest one ever. Heero wasn't sure that either one of them would survive, so he wanted to spend his free time with Duo. Duo had been thinking about the battle, but the soothing sound of Heero's heartbeat lulied him to sleep.

Softly you whisper, you're so sincere. How could our love be so blind?

The morning came and Heero kissed the head of his braided lover. Duo seemed so peaceful and angelic when he slept. Heero only wished that the battle ahead would be won by them. Heero couldn't even think about living without Duo and he wouldn't even want to leave Duo alone. Duo started to stir. Heero looked down at the american pilot. Duo opened his violet eyes and looked up at his japanese lover. "Good morning, Heero." Duo said quietly. Heero gently lend down and kissed Duo passionately. "Try to get some more sleep, Duo. I want to go for a walk." Heero said as he got up and started to dress. Duo sat up, his undone braid acting like a robe. "Let me join you." Duo said. Heero pushed the american back down to the bed. "Get some more sleep." Heero insisted. Duo was about to get up again when Heero bent down and kissed him. This time Heero's hands careesed Duo's pale body. Then Duo melted into Heero's arms and went to sleep. Heero knelt down next to Duo in the bed. "I just want you to save your strength. I want us to be together tommorrow." Heero whispered into his lover's ear. Then the Wing pilot got up and left the room quietly.

We sailed on together. We're drifting apart. And here you're right by my side. So I come to you, with open arms. Nothing to hide, believe what I say. So here I am, with open arms. Hoping you'll see, what your love means to me, open arms.

Duo woke up several hours later. He felt awake and ready to take on anything. He looked around the room and noticed that Heero hadn't returned. Perhaps he had just got caught up on that infernal laptop of his. Duo sighed and got up. He slowly got dressed and notice the infernal machine was still sitting on Heero's desk. Where did Heero go? "Hey there Duo." Quatre said as he poked his blonde head into Duo's room. Duo smiled at the arbian as he walked in. "Hey Quatre, old buddy. How's it going?" Duo said. Quatre sat down on the bed. He thought for a moment and then shrugged. "It's going pretty good. It looks like we won't have to go into the battlefield. Both sides seem to have come to an understanding right now. We've been told to stay out of the way." The Arbian pilot said. Duo sighed. Another day will see the God of Death. "Where's Heero? He told me earlier that he was going for a walk." Duo said. Quatre shrugged. "I haven't seen him today, Duo. I just got up a little while ago. He may have left to go to the city. Don't worry about Heero, Duo. He'll come back." Quatre said. He got up from the bed. "Come on. Breakfeat is ready." Duo followed Quatre downstairs and into the diningroom.

Living without you, living alone. This empty house seems so cold. Wanting to hold you, wanting you near. How much I've wanted you home.

Duo spent the whole day waiting to see the Wing pilot walk towards the house. Unfurtunately, Duo didn't see even a bird fly near the house. Duo sat there, alone with his thoughts.

Where are you, Heero? What could you be doing that is more important than being with me?

"Hey Duo. What's wrong?" Wufei said as he joined the braided haired pilot on the balcony. "I'm just wondering where Heero went this morning. He left before sunrise. He hasn't even called to tell us what he's up to." Duo said. He continued to watch the gate for a familiar body. Wufei sighed. It didn't quite agree with the love to two boys shared, but he hated it when someone was feeling down, especially Duo. Wufei placed a reassuring hand on Duo's shoulder. "I'm sure he's just gone out to see the colony or something. He'll be home just before you know it." Wufei said. He turned to leave. "Maybe he'll show you that he missed you as much as you missed him." Duo sighed. Wufei might be right, but nothing seemed right unless Heero was telling him it.

Now that you've come back, turned night into day. I need you to stay. So I come to you, with open arms. Nothing to hide, believe what I say.

The sun had set and still Heero hadn't returned. Duo sadly climbed into his bed and cuddled with Heero's pellow. He hated sleeping alone. After two hours of rocking and craddling the pillow, Duo managed to drift into slumber. A couple of hours later, something brushed Duo's lips. Duo opened his violet eyes to see his dark haired, colbat eyed lover. Duo wraped his arms around the Wing pilot and kissed him with more passion then he had even done. Heero pressed the american pilot down into the bed and undressed him. Duo moaned as Heero careessed Duo's body. Though they were seperated for a day, it seemed like forever to them. A moment without the other was too long. Heero tried his best to have Duo forgive him, and judging by the sigh Duo made after Heero had pulled out, Duo had excepted him apology.

So here I am, with open arms. Hoping you'll see, what you're love means to me, open arms.
