"If I told you that I love you and I'll throw it all away just to be with you, what would you say to me?" asked Duo Maxwell to Hirde who was sitting right in front of him, obviously he was extremely drunk. Noin just looked at him strangely, knowing so well that Duo would never say such things.

"Good night, Duo," Hirde just stood up and dashed straight out of the bar, leaving Duo all alone. Suddenly the bar tender who was busy collecting each and every single glass of beer left on the bar came towards him and sat on Hirde's seat.

"Let me guess," said the bartender. "Got your heart broken?"

"It's a little more complicated than that," Duo replied, taking another sip of alcohol.

"Well that's what everyone says," the bar tender continued. Duo gave him a look as he pulled his jacket zip wide open, revealing his identity as a man of a church.

"Holy shit!" the bar tender swore. "You're a priest! This I got to hear,"

"No! I'm not a priest. Anyway, this is a very long story," said Duo. And I know you're very busy and I don't really feel like talking,"

"Wait," the bar tender told him as he made himself comfortable. "Now tell me, what's bothering you , making you cry and drinking all those nasty alcohol?"

"It's about this person

"Girlfriend?

"Not quite. But nearly the same,"said Duo. "It's a he..."

"Aa."

"I was an orphan, wondering around like a lost soul. Looking for the meaning of life..."

Until I became a Gundam Pilot. I met this guy, my colleague, my partner both in work and love. Heero Yuy. He was the only one who could understand the real me, who really loved and cared for me for who I am. A person whom I truly loved in return.

After the war, we went our different ways back to our own colony. I didn't think I'd miss him so much, until one night when I appeared at his doorstep.

"Duo! What are you doing here?" asked Heero surprised. "And what's with the suitcase?"

"I'm moving in," I replied as I entered his apartment and threw my bag on the sofa. Slowly I leaned over him and kissed his warm lips. I missed you, Heero. I can't live without you."

"I missed you too, Duo,"he replied as he gave me a warm hug, a hug I couldn't find anywhere else even if I walk to the center or the Earth. Everything was so perfect at that moment, he needed me as much as I needed him. It was as if time had stopped just for us. I'll never forget the feeling, which filled my heart and soul - never ever!"

That night, we spend the every single second just being together. There was no reason for us to be apart ever again. I solemnly swore to myself that I'l never leave Heero as I already did before. Life wouldn't be the same without him. I've lived that part - and suffered.

"Heero." My left arm slowly moved over to the other side of the bed. "Heero?"

8.15 am

I scanned the room searching for him, but there was no sign of the blue eyed boy. Last night he was sleeping soundly right next to me, in my arms, and now he was no where to be seen. Slowly I wore my boxers and walked to the kitchen, hoping so much that he'll be there. I don't know why I was having such fear or losing him even though at the corner of my heart I know he'll still be with me. Maybe that's what love is. Maybe.

"Ohayo gozaimasu, Duo," a male voice called for me. A voice I want to hear forever whispering into my ear telling me how much I meant to him.

"Same to you," I replied with a smile as I sat down and watch him prepare breakfast - especially for me. As far as I can remember, Heero Yuy is the worst cook ever on the face of the Earth. But watching him making breakfast for me just makes me want to just sit down and watch him do it all day. "What are we eating anyway?"

"I'm trying to make pancakes but I nearly burned the house down!" Heero replied as he tried to flip another pancake into the air. This time the pancake did flipped but landed on his head instead! "Damn pancakes! They should be banned!"

"Hahahaaa," I laughed at him, making him all mad and fury. He just gave me the one eyed glare, which made me, stopped instantly. "Come on Heero. I'll help you out."

I stood behind him, holding his hand from the back. Patiently teaching him how to flip. As he flopped another one out again, we decided to change places. This time I was standing in front of him, teaching him again how to do it the correct way. My back was facing him when I suddenly felt his fingers crawling over my shoulder, giving me the tickles. He slowly gathered my unbraided hair over to my left, making my bare shoulders visible to him. I felt his soft and tender kisses climbing on my neck, making me ever so quietly starting to purr.

The pancakes were burning hot at the pan, but I couldn't care less because so were we.

"Two sunny side ups please," said Heero to the waitress.

"And toast bread as well," Duo continued. "With two cups of balck coffee."

"I can't believe you forgot to turn off the gas. Now we have to eat our breakfast here," muttered Heero with a scowl on his face. I just smiled to him from across the table, as I reached out for his hand and hold it tight.

"Let's make a promise," I told him, looking deeply into his clear eyes. "We'll never cook in the kitchen again."

"Hmmph."

"Promise?" I asked him, still holding his hands. Slowly, yet hesitantly, Heero nodded with a grin.

Ever since that morning, both of us did kept our promise. Everyday, it will either be me or him to go out and buy our daily food. Sometimes we'll just go out together and have a wonderful meal together. Both of us never complained about anything. Everything was moving in the right path, so right that I wasn't aware of what might happen ahead. Without realizing, three months had just gone by.

"Ai shiteru, Heero," I whispered into his ear one stormy night. I could see his face only by the light of the candle. The whole apartment had black out due to the thunderstorm that had been going on since last night. I crawled up on the sofa, still leaning the right side of my body against Heero as I tuck myself in the wool blanket.

"Duo," called Heero in his usual expressionless face. He didn't face me, instead he just looked at the fire burning hot in the fireplace. "I'm thinking of dropping school."

"Nani?!" I shouted to him hysterically. "What do you think you're doing, Heero?"

"I'm thinking of going to work," he replied, without even looking at me. "I got a job, as a mechanical engineer at this company."

"Why would you leave your studies behind?" I asked him again. "

"But you're a mechanic yourself!"

"I did a mistake. After the war I never attended school. Unlike I was supposed to," I told him as I reached for his hands. "Promise me you'll never drop out of school."

"I can't."

"Why?"

"I promised Relena I'll work for her."
