Eclipsed by the Legend
Part 3
This body is a bit unfit, but nevertheless, quite useful for getting around with. At least I have more energy now, after that sucking session and no one would even suspect the connection. Didn't realize I still have so much power, overpowering that humanoid was so easy, amazed me then. Well, if I get enough energy than I should be able to awaken the whole Dark Kingdom, with the Bishoujo Senshis gone, and no one with any experience with trying to attack us around, it makes life a lot easier. Germany, so far away from Tokyo, no one will know. I suppose that is the good thing about having a host, such a weak host that I can take over his mind, so utterly and completely, without struggle, no one suspects.
Now that I am sure about my
energy level, next stop will be somewhere busy. Somewhere
where I can get enough energy in one go. Maybe the shopping
center downtown will be the perfect place. Today is Sunday,
midday, the perfect hour, the perfect day.
Back at home, Ami sat at her desk drumming her fingers against her work table, her eyes concentrated on the screen of her little organizer / computer. Her long hair heaped into a neat bun behind her head. The others sat behind her, also concentrating on the movement on screen of the cross.
Usagi broke the tense silence
in the room by a huge yawn. "Why can't be just go
after him instead of waiting here for him to stop?"
"Are you stupid, or do
you just have a really short memory? Ami has explained it
to you a thousand times. We can't because it would be crazy
to...
"He's stopped.
My God, it's the mall, on a Sunday afternoon. I think he is
really getting serious on finding energy to awaken the whole of
the Dark Kingdom. Come on, let's transform before going
there. It's too busy in there to find somewhere quiet to
transform."
"SailorMoon
Make-up!"
"SailorMercury
Make-up!"
"SailorMars
Make-up!"
"SailorJupiter
Make-up!"
"SailorVenus
Make-up!"
"What happened to your
brooch Ami?"
"I transferred
everything into this brooch, I couldn't very well wear that one
around." Ami smiled. "If you want yours
transferred Rei, I can do the same for you after all of
this."
Andrew stood in the middle of the walkway, holding up a microphone. "Ladies and Gentlemen! A special event for the next 3 days will be happening in the Exhibition Center. The greatest singers all over the world will be attending for this very special day. It is the best of the best. Only the best singers have been invited to perform to celebrate our freedom, our democracy. I have free lottery tickets here, if you will come and write your name, and your identification number on this card, winners will be drawn in 1 hour. So come, and hurry, in 1 hour, you may have the opportunity to be immersed by the best and most talented performers in the world!! Over 4000 lucky names will be drawn, so write down all the names of all your friends and family members, they can come and get their tickets later, and nominate some friends to come with them, two nominations per lucky person. Come and give yourself the chance to win!!"
In the shadows, the five Senshi
stood, hidden in the shadows listening to Andrew's speech.
"Hey, how come I
wasn't invited to come and sing? I am considered one of the
best singers in Tokyo, at least that is what my manager tells
me."
"Venus! You
idiot! He's just trying to gather everyone around him to
take their energy."
"Hehe... I knew
that! It was err... a bit of a joke. Hehe..."
"People are starting
to collapse. We have to make a move on."
The five of them, clad in their Senshi outfits came out from under the shadows. Their uniforms seemed to have grown with them. SailorMoon, Mars, and Venus had remained the same over the years, while SailorJupiter had her ponytail tied slightly lower, but SailorMercury's change had been the biggest. Her long hair tied into a bun by a single blue ribbon with loose ringlets hanging to her shoulders.
"You five?
Again? I thought you would never find me, what are you
doing here? But no matter, I, Octupussy, am the strongest
of all the youmas in the Dark Kingdom. I will destroy you
myself!" Five tentacles suddenly reached out from his
body, capturing the Senshis, while three more continued to suck
the energy from the crowds which were hypnotised by his eyes.
"Now what do we do
now? Wahhhh..."
SailorMercury felt the
tentacles loosing their grip on her. Looking at Octupussy,
he was obviously distracted and irritated by SailorMoon's
supersonic wails. "SailorMoon, keep crying,
louder!" She grabbed hold of the end of the tentacle
and closed her eyes. "SailorMercury Ice Blast!",
suddenly the tentacle became ice. Using her Make-up wand,
SailorMercury hit the frozen tentacle, causing it to crack and
break apart. The pain caused by her action, allowed the
rest of the Senshis to be dropped from the iron grip.
"Ok, lets have some
grilled octopus around here. SAILORMARS FIRE ATTACK."
"Well, then we better
cut it into smaller pieces. SAILORVENUS LOVE CHAIN."
"SAILOR JUPITER
ELECTRIC POWER!"
The youma fell on the floor, and suddenly disintegrated, taking Andrew's body with it. A Silver Star floated in the air, SailorMercury held up her hand, the star drifted slowly into her hand. As her hand closed, she whispered, "I think we have to close the Dark Kingdom seal again." The girls stood in a circle, with their left hand touching in the middle. Concentrating, a beam of light representing their respective owners shot up from behind them, a gust of wind blew upwards, light covered the sky, as the seal to the Dark Kingdom was mended.
Once that ended, cameras began
snapping away at them. Concentrating on SailorMercury, with
the Germans thinking that she was the leader of the group.
SailorMercury turned away, but not before several photos had been
taken of her. "Let's go." With that, they
five disappeared into thin air.
Back in the hospital, a breeze
blew through the open window, making the curtains dance.
The five Senshis gathered around the bed, SailorMoon at the foot,
SailorVenus and Mercury stand near the head, facing each
other. SailorMercury wordlessly handed the Silver Star to
SailorMoon. SailorMoon raised her hand above her head, the
Star floated out of her hands, back into the body of Scott.
Silence ensued the room while waiting for Scott to awaken.
A groan escaped from his lips, as he stirred. The Senshis
turned around, and began to leave, suddenly he reached out and
grasped onto SailorMercury's small wrist. "Thank you
for saving me." His eyes opened, just as she turned to
look at him, he looked at her, open-mouthed. "My
Princess, Goddess. You are like an aura of
beauty." SailorMercury blushed, and used her free hand
to unclasp his fingers on her wrist.
Early the next morning, a light knock on the door as it slowly opened, revealed Ami standing in the doorway, her hair left in the same way as yesterday, partly hoping that he would remember, but also because she had decided that she couldn't fight what she was supposed to look like. Dressed in a fitted double-breasted v-neck shirt with a ruffled sleeve, and a short skirt, she walked towards Scott, with a bunch of lilies.
Smiling, she looked at him,
extending the flowers to him, "for your recovery."
Scott, who had been
studying the papers, especially the photos of the Senshis,
returned her smile but did not take her flowers. He had
been particularly interested in the photograph of SailorMercury
with the caption, 'leader of the group.' "Ami, look at
her. Have you ever seen anyone look like that?"
Ami took a casual glance at
the paper he held up, "of course, they originated from
Japan, Tokyo, where I grew up. I remember them from my
high-school years, why?"
"Don't you think she
is beautiful?"
For a moment she was
silent, then slowly taking the paper from his hands she pointed
at SailorMoon, "she is the real leader."
"Does it matter?
It doesn't make her any less beautiful."
Ami looked at him, biting
her lips; her eyes glimmered from tears that were about to burst
the wall that she had so carefully built around herself through
the years. Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath in
order to control her emotions from overflowing. "I
don't think so. Maybe the only reason why you think she is
so exceptionally beautiful is because she is so mysterious, and
powerful."
"Ami, I'm sorry, I
really am."
She looked at his face
coolly, holding tightly onto her mixed emotions. "You
don't need to be, in fact you have no reason to be."
"You understand, don't
you? She's so important to me, she saved my life. Now
that you've given me a starting point to find her, I want to find
her. Even if it takes forever. I'll go to Japan if I
have to but I am determined to find this woman of my dreams, I'll
go around Tokyo by foot just to find her."
"Yes, Tokyo, the land
of myths and legends, I was there once..."
"Maybe the land where
this Goddess resides."
"Your Princess,
Goddess. She is like an aura of beauty, isn't she?"
"What?"
Scott stared at her; he couldn't understand how she knew what he
had said to her. He closed his eyes, deciding that it was
not important. He imagined SailorMercury's face in his mind
and smiled. Softly, almost like a sigh, he breathed,
"she's like a legend, a dream to me."
"Maybe it will be
better to leave it as a dream."
"No, I love her."
"Whether you are
willing to admit it or not, it is the legend, the mystic that
makes her beautiful. That is what you love. This...
legend... " Ami bit her lip as she paused again to
regain her composure, "is so beautiful that it even eclipses
the true person, the true her."
"Ami, of course
not. She is more beautiful than anyone I've ever
seen. Nothing can change that, not a legend or
anything."
"I pity her. No
one really loves her, they only love the mysteriousness in the
role that she assumes in order to help people, yet no one cares
when she is only human."
"Don't. Ami, I
know you're upset by what is happening, but she can't look any
different when she is her normal self."
"To some eyes, she
does, in fact, to your eyes, she does. If one day she
appeared to you as two people: her normal self, and the other as
the legend, who will you think be the more beautiful one?
Who will you love?" Ami looked at him once more in
disappointment, dropping the flowers on the floor she turned and
left.
