My Diary
After a long way of swimming across the boundless sea, I have finally crossed the finish line, and won the race. Ever since, my journey has never been the same.

March 20,2004 - 05 weeks to go
My body has grown so big, especially my head. I couldnt maneuver as freely as I used to. It was akinda crampy in this little cabin. My head was getting so heavy and the gravity pulling me upside down. Suddenly I felt something was poking my head; "She is very low", said doctor Cestari.

March 26,2004 - 03 weeks to go
I am not scheduled for another three weeks, i was patiently tapping my foot and knitting my fingers. This little cabin is growing smaller and smaller each day, pretty soon I will not have any leg room anymore!

March 27,2004 - 02 weeks + 6 days to go
Mom and Dad took me for a shopping spree today! I could feel that mom was having a great energy. Later that night, I was sleeping quitely on my momma's lap, while she was working hard doing her proposal for her senior project. It was pass midnight and mom and dad was still sitting infront of the computer.

March 28,2004 - 02 weeks + 5 days to go
I woke up and looked at the clock. It was three in the morning. Apparantly, mom had just finished shower. "She must be very tired", I thought. I pursuaded mom to get into the bed and take a rest, then i felt asleep again.
In the background i heard something was dripping!, It wasnt the bathroom faucet i am sure, "Drip, drip, drip..." constantly. I hurrily wake momma up, Momma got up almost instanly and she told dad that her water might have broken. "But, the baby is not due for another three weeks" dad replied with his somber voice.
For a minute I agreed with dad, but yet the dripping has intensified. I knew momma was worried about it all along. At four o'clock AM they called the doctor's office.

March 28,2004 - The Hospital Trip
It was doctor Kasselo on duty that night. She urged them to go to the hospital immediately. I can see dad was quite frantic and excited. "Wait for a couple more days, will you?" mom exclaimed. She couldnt believe that she will not have an April baby!
Mom was examined by one of the nurse as soon as she entered the Delivery Room. It was determined that the water has broken and labor has to be induced immediately.

March 28,2004 - The Arrival
Good morning sun shine, the time was ten o'clock. Doctor Kasselo has run an examination on mom. Mom was hooked up to a heart rate monitor and to a bunch of other medical devices. I was glad seeing mom looking good that day.
Did I say Mom was looking good? dint last too long! Apparently, the medicine has caused her uterus to start contracting vividly. I knew mom was so eager to recieved the Epheuderal injection, but the doctor made her wait untill the cervix has dilated to at least 3 cm. She was waiting and waiting in pain, two hours later, the anashethiologist came and gave her the shot.
She was feeling numb from her belly down, at least she doesnt feel the pain any longer. I am so relieved to see her calming down, but the quiet moment didn't last too long either. Nurse Nancy came and informed the doctor that the dilation has opened up to 10 cm and mom is ready for labor! "No Way!", she said, the ephederal just barely kicked in, and now she had to start pushing. "Push!, Push harder!" the doctor coached. Mom was tyring as hard as she could, but she couldnt feel any contraction at this time.

March 28,2004 - The Delivery
After an hour of pushing, mom started to feel her contraction again, and this time (at 1:59PM to be exact)I gave my last kick and I made it out from my tiny little cabin. All of a sudden everything look so bright, too bright compares to my little cabin!. I was totally overwhelemd. I cried, and I cried and I cried. And nobody seems really to care, even the nurse was holding me upside down, turn me around, and turn me back and forth.
I miss my old little cabin, eventhough it is a bit too small, the temperature is always right and the best part was the room service always available 24-7! After the nurse had enough with me, she handed me over to mom. I felt that Mom and Dad was ecstatic, that was the first time i saw their face. "What shall we name her", asked mom. There was a brief silent after that, seems that the two of them had no idea!

March 29,2004 - The First Day
I over heard the nurse was talking about how rough mom's delivery was. I even heard them saying that mom was fainted twice. I really worried about her. They didnt let me sleep with her that night, sure it felt weird, especially after being with her all the time for the past eight months.
Later that morning, they took me to see mom. Our neighbor Angela was there too, sounds like they are sharing each other's experience. Angela brought a lot of gifts for mom. I was still exhausted from helping mom with the delivery yesterday, I didnt do much today, except sleeping.

March 31,2004 - Coming Home
I can open my eyes today. I can start adjusting to the light. There are a lot more to see in this new place comparing to my little old cabin. There are so many to look, but I still can't understand a thing! Although I am pretty good at looking for my source of milk.
They dress me from head to toe, I was wearing a pink overall outfit that mom got from Aunt Elaine. The outfit was way too big, I guess it gotta be dad who was the one to pick it up from home. The nurse put me on my momma lap's and they reel us out in the wheel chair from her bedroom to the hospital lobby. Dad was waiting downstair with his blue car, Andy.
The trip was not that long, it only took less than 10 minutes to got home. I was so excited to see all the things that i have been missing for the past eight months.
I saw two dogs awaiting for my arrival. Moocie and Cookie. They both look alike, I could never distinguish one from another. They look twice as big as me, but they are very gentle.
