In Hong Kong, everyone knows who is Sammi, 'cos she
is now
the most famous female singer here. In 1996, the sale
of
Sammi's albums came the 1st among all female singers
and the 3rd among all singers in Hong Kong respectively.
When Sammi was just 16 years old (1988), she participated
in a
singing contest on TV. Fortunately, she won the 2nd-runner-up
award. It was at that time her career began.........
The year after the singing contest, Sammi published
her first
album. The feedback was not bad. In 1990, Sammi received
the
award of "RTHK--Newcomers of Good Performance"
(³Ì¨Î·s¤HÀuÉݼú).
It was two years later that Sammi gained wide support
from
Hong Kong people. In 1993-1994, Sammi got 5 awards,
in which
3 of them were awards of "great progress"
and "large improvment"
("¤jÅD¶i"¡M"¤HÉa«æ¤É"µ¥¼ú¶µ).
1995 was a prelude for Sammi's popularity. In this
year she won
8 prizes totally. Her song "Can't let you go"(±Ë¤£±o§A)
can be
said as the greatest hit of the year.
Sammi's career reached a high point in 1996. She held
her first
concert which was a great success and given the award
of "My
Favourite Concert"(§Ú³Ì³ß·Rªººt°Û·|)
(Commercial Radio).
Moreover, she received the award of "The Greatest
Female Singer
of the year" (³Ì¨üÅwªï¤kºq¬P),
which is the highest honour for a
female singer.
