Tournament Rules

POINT SYSTEM AND SCORING:

How to Judge a Point:

The technique must be to a legal target area and must be made with a legal technique. The technique must be scored with proper control and balance. A technique which is fully extended, and therefore powerless which touches, is not a point. A technique must be seen by the judge, not just heard or assumed.

Scoring in Continuous Competition:

As a corner judge, you will mark all points scored on your scoring sheet. Indicate the number of points scored for each technique. Every warning given by the center referee should be marked on the form as well. The forms are totaled by each corner judge, signed and then given to the center referee at the end of each match.

Point System:

Multiple points are awarded in continuous fighting according to the type of advanced technique used.

A List of Techniques to Point are as Follows:
Technique to Body
Number of Points
Foot or Hand Technique to Body
1 Point
Hand to Head
1 Point
Foot to Head
2 Points
Jump Hand technique to Head
2 Points
Jump Kick to Body
2 Points
Jump Kick to Head/Face
3 Points

Out-Of-Bounds Points and Warnings:

A point can only be scored when both fighters are in bounds. A warning will be assessed for running out-of-bounds, but fighting our-of-bounds does not merit a warning.

Sudden Death in Continuous Competition:

If at the end of the round the score is tied and the warnings have not decided the match, then the match goes into sudden death. A final 30 second round is used to determine the winner. If a winner is still undetermined, the center judge may run another 30 second round or call a winner if he feels one competitor has dominated the fight.

NOTE: The center referee has discretion to break a 2 to 2 tie by his/her vote, if the competitors cannot continue or the center referee does not want them to continue.
