Origins Of Ah! Megamisama Extracts From Richard and Leonard's Skuld ML postings. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- According to the biography of Kosuke Fujishima in "1-555-Goddess"(a Dark Horse Oh My Goddess Compilation issue), the series was first concieved back in 1988 when he did a four-panel gag cartoon in Morning Party Extra. It featured the characters from You're Under Arrest praying to a goddess, hoping they would win the contest that was being run at the time (YUA T-shirts, etc. givaway). He was so pleaesd with the way the goddess turned out that she became the basis of Belldandy and the resulting OH My Goddess manga series, which ran in Afternoon Magazine. That's all I know. Hope it helps you :) --Richard Paul Gregorio aka Skuld^ on DALnet -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I recall having that information somewhere..... But I'll try and type whatever I can remember. Started late 1988 as monthly section in Kodansha's "Afternoon". 1 year after "You're Under Arrest" was first drawn by Kosuke Fujishima. The series gained popularity at around 1991, and Kosuke Fujishima was interviewed by "Newtype" June 1993. Music and Drama CDs also came out 1989-93, AMG drama CD the first and GFC Kamisama no Okurimono being the latest. I think the OAV began at 1992. I'm not so sure about this one. Hope it helps. ^_^ vtky@pc.jaring.my
