Skuld's Pocket (From Joe Petrow's Skuld ML) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Everybody reading this probably knows about Skuld's shirt pocket (THe one she pulls out bombs from) right? Well, I just wondered, what's it called? I've heard of the demensional pocket, hammer space, 4demensional pocket (This is from Draemon) Also, what's in that pocket any way? I'm positive about the bombs (We've all seen her whip it out more then once right?) But I've seen some things that could be in there. I've put them on a list so here goes. Those bug detecting glasses (the ones with the cool HUD) That "Twister" thing from the end of chapter 32 in the manga Her hammer (She's not always carrying it around you know) The hologram machine "Gen-san" used to capture Fenril in chapter 37 Various other tools (She does build stuff outside her room and the temple) THe handheld remote for Marine parts Banpei-kun These are less likely ones. Marine parts Banpei-kun aka "Blue 6" Banpei-kun himself, (remember the time everybody went to the beach?) Also, I wondered if Belldandy or Urd has the same kind of pocket. Belldandy did stuff the shrunken Keiichi down her shirt during chapter 38. I've also thought that it could be on her other clothes other then her goddess uniform. By Leonard ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- And I noticed they had same problems that windows had when they tried early versions of doublespace. By Dmmanda ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, here is my humble opinion on these questions: > Everybody reading this probably knows about Skuld's shirt pocket (THe one she > pulls out bombs from) right? > Well, I just wondered, what's it called? > I've heard of the demensional pocket, hammer space, 4demensional pocket (This > is from Draemon) The pocket that she stores all of her bombs, tools, etc. in most probably is a small dimensional space that she uses for storage. This is easy for her since all the goddesses are on, or have access to, other planes of existance that we are not capable of reaching. Sometimes I refer to this "pocket" as her goddess goodie bag :) > Also, what's in that pocket any way? > I'm positive about the bombs (We've all seen her whip it out more then once > right?) > But I've seen some things that could be in there. Well, since I don't really know about all of the things in the Japanese chapters, I can only say for sure that she has those trusty SkuldBombs, SkuldGrenades(used on Fenrir in Dark Lord of Terror story), "Mr.Opto"(American version of Gen-san), "Mr.Ear"(listening tool in DH series 2), her debugging glasses, and other numerous useful gadgets. As for her hammer, I thought she always had it strapped to her back at the ready for any bugs? :/ > Also, I wondered if Belldandy or Urd has the same kind of pocket. Belldandy > did stuff the shrunken Keiichi down her shirt during chapter 38. > > I've also thought that it could be on her other clothes other then her > goddess uniform. As far as I know, all the goddesses have the power to control dimensional pockets -- it's a natural effect of their existence. As for being on certain clothes, remember that a goddess's wardrobe is nothing more than a visual spell...it can be formed and reformed at will. So any and all forms of clothing have the same powers :) By Richard ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's just one of those Goddess things that mortal man was not meant to know, or at least that's what Kami-sama would say. ^_^ JG > > That "Twister" thing from the end of chapter 32 in the manga > What was the significance of that "Twister" thing anyway? Keiichi > seemed shocked, they played it, it set off a small-scale H-explosion > (might be ^_^), and the bugs were gone awhile. But does anyone > know more about it? > >Leonard ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- I don't think it really matters where she gets her things from. It can just be one of those things that aren't explained. Can anyone explain where those anvils and wooden mallets come from in Anime and Looney Toons? It's just for the gag of it. Also, you would figure that Urd is most likely to use one of these pockets, but she keeps all her potion componets in her room. Mike Chin 8^) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, Let us analyze for a few moments the nature that all animated characters can share. It is a comedic effect when say, Wakko Warner pulls a mallet out of nowhere and whacks someone over the head with it. He doesn't even pull it out of his Gag Bag most of the time, which is a bottomless bag which he uses to get just about anything. In a similar manner, Skuld has the ability to produce bombs, strange inventions and whatnot out of her shirt pocket. Wouldn't it also be comedic if Skuld was being annoyed, by say, one of those people who try to take a survey in the mall. She could, out of knowhere, produce a SKULD BOMB, and utterly smite the annoying survey person. Therefore, my theory points to what I like the call "The Mysterious Dimension of STUFF." That exists for the use of artists so they don't have to constanty draw the character with their things. Wouldn't it be tiresome for the artist to have to draw a character carting around the stuff they need. It is easier (and usually funnier) if the character produces the item required out of thin air when they need it. Adam John Pace
