Megami ML Prediction: AMG's Ending? 20th July 1997 After reading Chapter 78 (page 41 Compilation 14) and Belldandy's thought bubble 'How much time left?', I'm starting to think that the ending to the series may involve Belldandy having done her part in leading/helping Keiichi mature; and leaves him to his own life. Belldandy did say that Keiichi is starting to chase after his own dreams and gaining his own individuality, and this could mean that Keiichi and her aren't going to get married, and accompany Belldandy to heaven in the event of death. After all, Belldandy even hinted in that same chapter (78) that her task as a 'helper goddess' is her 'job'. She's in this to help unfortunate people fufill their dreams, and Keiichi was lacking in some traits when she first met him. Indeed, the series could very well end in a wedding scene: with Keiichi marrying a real human woman and the three Norns as bridesmaids (Refer to one of Hidenori's illustartions & the ending song to the OAV). Now who would that woman be? Will it be Chihiro, who is introduced late into the series? (Note: both Keiichi's sempais have their own two love of their lives already.) This is bittersweet to all AMG fans, but Kosuke Fujishima will always work out a happy ending somehow as usual. Example of such endings can be seen in Banpei-kun and Noble Scarlet's debut chapters. It is my wish to keep this prediction, and see if it will eventually come true, somewhere near compilation no. 30 (another prediction). As AMG has shown, life is not always a fairy tale. It scares even me to think how likely this ending will take place (it even matches Kosuke's story-telling style!) Leonard Tai ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have come across the conclusion that AMG will end at compilation 30 (somewhere around chapter 200) in this way: had machine specs appear in compilation 3, and AMG had it appear in 13. Now YUA ended in compilation 7, so 3/7 is to 13/x. Meaning roughly 30. 9 years approximately, spanning 1989-2006. Why did I use that particular scale? Kosuke did both series and if he is a regular type of author, there will be similarities in both. Allowing the fact that YUA appears twice a month and AMG once a month, the results would have been the same, since compilations refers to the total number of pages and not chapters or number of stories. On a lighter note, the series may be much longer. YUA ended much like Ranma 1/2, without a proper conclusion. If AMG ends with a proper conclusion, or Kosuke faces the same kind of public protest as Arthur Conan Doyle did with his ending , we may have a sequel or and additional 15 chapters. ^_^ This is all just speculation, and is open to objections. BTW did anybody notice that the 'very-begining's for both series are not in the manga, but shown in the OAVs? (Natsumi first meeting her partner; Keiichi first meeting Belldandy as a child.) -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
