Subject: A Fond Farewell Date: Wed, 10 Sep 1997 19:53:15 -0400 From: Mike Isenberg To: "(AoV) Castigir" , "(AoV) Floyd" , "(AoV) Poof" This message is being sent out to tell those of you that are left that I am regretfully resigning as your commander. My reasons for doing so are numerous, but I'll try to shed some light on a few of them. The first, and main one, is lack of time on my part. Sure, an XvT squadron sounds great during the summer, when one has all the time in the world. Even if one does think ahead during the summer, it's hard to estimate the amount of time they would have during the fall if they're moving into a new school, which I am. I do not mean to say that AoV wasn't high on my priorities, it's just that school obligations come above all else, and an inactive commander is no good at all. Another reason is the lack of sucess of the squad in general. I'm sure that none of you have to be reminded of the fact. There are only four of us left, and we're hardly an active bunch. Thirdly, I've become fed up with the NSWL. Their lack of handling of responsibility is almost equal to my own :) except that they have a whole league to run into the ground, and I had but a squadron. Just look at our squadron roster on their web page. We still have cadets listed that resigned well over a month ago, and Castigir never even got officially promoted to OPS, even though I had filled out the forms over and over and emailed sector command at least 4 or 5 times. I would suggest that one of you take over as Commander, but considering the lack of cadets and the lack of activity, I think it wiser for all of you to find new squads. If you find that the three of you would rather stick together, I'd suggest forming a new squad entirely, as this one seems to be cursed. You've all been great pilots, and great friends, but I must say adieu. If ever you see me on ICQ or IRC or KALI feel free to ask me to a dogfight, and I will be happy to oblige, but for regular league play I will not soon return. -Mike Isenberg (aka Commander Predator) mailto:Predator@dracnet.com http://www.geocities.com/~predator0 "To err is human.
