Nov 2000, Tanya sang the theme song-"Something Should Change" of the local-produced English movie-"Chicken Rice War".
In an 8 Days Article by Daniel Goh, Tanya spoke about her appearance as a singer in local English movie Chicken Rice War singing 'Luck' at a getai.
In that article, it was mentioned that Joanathan Li gave her a coffee machine as reward for being the guitarist for Karen Mok's album as she was a coffee-lover. She also reminded all to refrain from eating sharks fins.
In the 14 November 2000 issue of Today, Tanya recounted her past as a plump kid who was often teased by her schoolmates in her primary school days. Looking at the current achievements of Tanya, one could hardly imagine her as someone who could be pushed around.

Tanya's compositions are sought after by many overseas singers and she has also continued to produce many great works. She is a rather outstanding composer and her works are very unique. Pop queen Faye Wong and newcomer Celest Chong are just two out of the many names who have sung her compositions.
As compared to counterparts like Stefanie Sun, you do not get to hear about Tanya Chua on the news or media all the time. But, whenever you think about a female composer-singer in the region, Tanya Chua is certainly a name you will recall immediately.
Having an English background, you might think that she will have problems with her Mandarin. But no, she is effectively billingual and her Mandarin is only getting better and better especially with her exposure in Taiwan.

Both Tanya and Stefanie Sun were nomintated for the Taiwan Golden Melody Awards. Though both of them did not bag any award but the nomination itself is an honour.
