Stuff to See That's Pretty Nifty

(Write these down if you have to!)

These are some links to stuff that I think is pretty interesting. I won't get any money for sending you to these places, and I don't work for any of these folks -- right now I'm a full-time student, dabbling in desktop publishing and security -- so that takes care of the GeoCities noncommercial clause. But seriously, if I did, wouldn't this page look that much better? No snickering, either! I'm working on it!!!

Anyway, I make no guarantees on the effect of these items on your life. At the very least, I hope it keeps you occupied and out of trouble for a few minutes, you rapscallions!

Shiroi Washi's Page of Stuff That Doesn't Suck

***Well, you're already here, but I figured I should list it as a matter of record.***

Anime Web Turnpike

***Your virtual information desk to anime throughout the web. If there's something out there you want to see, this is the place to start.***

Castrol Oil Home Page

***They make damn good oil, and field some nice-looking cars. Although this page is pretty slow to load, you can make your way to the motorsports section for great action pictures.***

CART/FedEx Series Home Page

***Championship Auto Racing Teams was home to Alex Zanardi, one of the goofiest, craftiest racers I've ever seen. I'm disappointed that they fail to have a picture of him burning donuts, but I figure they frown on that sort of activity. Nonetheless, it includes interesting inside information about the cars, such as rules and requirements; it might surprise you what can, can't, and doesn't have to be on a Champ car.***

Goodyear Tire and Rubber Home Page

***As you may have heard me say regarding my car, they make a lovely, long-lasting/standard-profile/all-weather tire in the Infinitred. If you happen to need tires, there's a neat online fitting feature. Answer the questions and see what tracks they make that will fit your car.***

K&N Engineering Home Page

***These folks make a washable, extended-use filter that are better than disposable fabric ones. According to them, it'll last about 35 to 50 thousand miles, and give back about 5 to 15 or so horsepower that was choked off by your old filter. After about 10,000 miles, mine is working great. I can't recommend these things enough.***

NASCAR Home Page

***The National Association of Stock Car Automobile Racing is home to such drivers as Dale Jarrett and Mark Martin. A couple seasons ago was their 50th anniversary, so there will be stuff regarding NASCAR history. There's a feature about the fabrication of a stock car, from the chassis and safety equipment to the tires and paint; it's pretty interesting. There aren't as many great action pictures as CART has, but I think they make up for it with a better interface, more news and track information, and merchandise (which I can't locate on CART, drat it!).***

Panoz Automobile Development Home Page

***These folks make some great and frightening cars. The Dodge Viper used to impress the heck out of me, but Panoz's Esperante has overtaken that spot. Lots of information if you're in the market for a new car (I don't have a clue how much they cost, but it's probably about as scary as the nose of their Visteon/Castrol Q9; check it out), including photos of their GT racers in action at Sebring and LeMans. They also make a roadster that is reminiscent of the 1962 Ford/AC Cobra; you have to see it to believe it.***

Torakogyoku's Home Page

***This is the page of my good friend. Although I'd dabbled in HTML before, she prompted me into erecting this page, probably just before I might have on my own. She's also the main inspiration for lists. Check hers out when you're there. P.S.: I put these links up by alphabetical order; had you used some sembalance of your real name, you'd be after Anime Turnpike or before FedEx/CART Racing; just thought I'd point that out.***

Voodoo Mamma's Gris Gris Garden

***This is my sister's web page. She's responsible for most of my page-construction knowledge. So, if you feel there's someone to blame, please go to the Complaints Department at this link. Watch out for flying hexes.***
