Excursion to air base Twenthe

The Dutch pride: F-16 in the shelter. This fighter is prepared for some exercise that day. The photo is taken 10 minutes before leaving.

This photo is taken during landing. This is (I think) a training jet because it has a double cockpit.

Look at this, a German Tornado. In a hour this metal bird is flying.

The Tornado is power up the thrust before releasing the parking brakes. At that moment we were already deaf, haha. The F-16's are waiting patiently until the Tornado is airborne.

This is the hangar which the F-16's come in for a 300 hour inspection, I guess. Pretty cool view, isn't it?

A F-16 in a shelter. A shelter is a complete concrete pillbox. There no way you can break in!

There are moments that the fighters do need extra fuel. The flight can be extended and as the mission as well. The tanker is a modified Douglas DC-10. They call him a KDC-10.
