KONARK - The Black Pagoda
Konark is a nice and quiet place. It is about 60 kms from Bhubaneswar. If you take the marine drive which is a road that goes along the sea shore, it is 33 Kms from Puri.
This is basically a village. There are hotels here which are cheap and neat. The locals are usually helpful and barring the footpath vendors, will not overcharge you either.
You can visit the Chandrabhaga beach nearby (3 kms from the Temple), it is nice.
There is a museum of the Konark Temple nearby which merits a visit.
All in all it would take you about 5 hrs to cover the temple and the museum. If you want to see the beach then ofcourse it depends how much time you want to spend there.
