Mi-na san Konnichiwa !
Watashi no namae wa Tim desu. Shingapuru kara desu.
Watashi wa "Ne tsu ai Matsuda Seiko".

Well that is just a very simple introduction. It says
" Hi Everyone. My name is Tim. I am from Singapore. I love Matsuda Seiko."

It all started in 1985 - Seiko Town. This tape belongs to my god-sister, which also like Seiko. I took the tape home and listen. Very nice song indeed, something like that "Pure Pure lip………… I will fall in love……." I immediately like her song as I like her crystal voice. So clear & refreshing. Then I started to buy her CD. I only manage to get Hong Kong Press CD and not Japan press, as there is no HMV or Tower Record in Singapore at that time. Well, the Hong Kong press is really lousy. Basically there is no picture booklets at all, just only her lyrics.
There is also not many news of Seiko at that time in my country. Maybe I guess that I am too young to find out news about Seiko cos she is a Japanese. I have really no idea about Japanese at all. The Japanese words seems like worms to me.
As I grew older, I took up Japanese. I studied Japanese because of my interest and at the same time I also want to understand Seiko Songs.
Then I started to know that there is Seiko LD. I search for Seiko LD and finally found it selling & renting in one of the shop in Takashimaya. The name of the store is known as "Constant". Does it sound familiar? (Levan, Tzing & Tay Daniel) So I rented the first LD, which is Diamond Expression Clips. The funny thing is I do not have Laser Disc Player at home. LD player is expensive at that time. So I took the disc to my god-sis home to watch. This continues for a few years. I even bought Seiko LD at that time even though I do not have any LD player at home.

In 1996, I had missed the chance to meet up with Seiko in Singapore. At that time, I am still in the Army. As usual, I am in the store idling and listening to radio. Then I heard Matsuda Seiko name is being mention stating of the event that is taking place in Suntec City. It is a "Radio 60th Anniversary Show" where they had invited Seiko as a special guest appearance. I really don't believe what I heard. So to double confirmed, I called Sony Recording Company. They told me that there is no new of Seiko's coming to Singapore. All right, since the recording say so, I did not border with it anymore. At the later date, I found out that she is really coming to Singapore & this her first trip here. Oh gosh! I am really really lost. I called to check if there are any more tickets to the dinner show in Suntec but it is already all sold out. I am really helpless at that time. No one to turn to. I also wanted to go airport but in the end did not go as I do not know when she is arriving and leaving. Totally no news at all. Sob…. Sob… really dishearten.

In 1998, Seiko release her new album "Forever". There is one song, which makes me really sad. Tears would flow down when I listen to this song - "Dear Father". I guess I don't have to elaborate further.

All this time, I wonder if there is any Seiko Fans in Singapore. So I do a posting at Seiko Chartroom. To my surprised, a guy wrote to me. His name is Levan. We meet and I really envy him as he had been to Seiko's "Forever" Concert in 1998. Oh! How I wish my dream can come true. It is really not possible, how to? There is no one I knew in Japan and who will buy the tickets for me?

Times passed……….
1985,1986,1987,1988,1989,1990,1991,1992,1993,1994,1995,1996,1997,1998, 1999, 2000 and finally 2001.

I waited for 16 years. 16 years…wow. I'm aging and so is Seiko. Finally I got the chance to attend Seiko's "Love & Emotion Concert 2001" in Fukuoka.
I will always remember these days 15 & 16th July 2001.

Well, the first person I like to thank Siu Bee. Xie xie ni
Thanks also to Singapore Fan - Levan, Tzing & Tay Daniel for their best wishes and morale support.
And also to all Seiko Fans in the chartroom - Mike, Doogie, Ben, Takachan .etc

Fukuoka is a compact modern city, which moves at slower more comfortable pace than Japan's larger metropolises, but lacks for nothing in terms of facilities to cater for every need. At the same time,
Fukuoka's carefully preserved temples, shrines, gardens and other places of historic interest provide glimpses into 2000 years of history.
The airport, most accommodation and shopping facilities, as well as attractions, both historic and contemporary, are within walking distance of the city subway, which forms the backbone of an efficient citywide public transportation system.

This is my first trip to Japan - Fukuoka, alone.
I am actually quite brave and feeling a little scared but and have no choice.

To be frank, I have not heard of Fukuoka before.
I stayed at Tenjin, this is where the shopping paradise is.
The subway is really fascinating; there are actually 15 exits in Tenjin Subway itself.

Well, the opening of the concert is COOL. This year is a Spaceship theme.
"Welcome to our Spaceship…It will bring to a place of wonderland if you believe in."

The exciting part is "OUR CAPTAIN IS COMING"

The opening is really cool…

Normally, Seiko would wear either black or White but this time she wore Gold & Sliver, like the Elvis Presley suit. All sparking shinning especially when the spot light shine at her. Sugoii ne!!!!!!!

During the concert, Seiko talks to her Japanese Fan about her Vol.2, which will be release this year before her Dinner Show. It will be a Ballad Album.
I think there will be a new version of "Anata ni ai ta ku te ~ Missing you", I am just guessing only.

The fans talks to Seiko which I don't seems to understand. I waited quietly for my
Chance. Like the song ~ "How to take a chance" (^ ^)
So later Seiko ended the conversation and sing the next song. In my mind, there is no more chance to talk to Seiko. So I sit back and enjoy the concert instead. Indeed, no chance. It follows by her hit melody where Seiko drove out a sport car.

As usual, the hit melody is real fun where you got to do all kinds of hand participation. She ended her song and I anticipate that will talk to the crowd again. True enough!!!
I really can't tolerate anyone. Out of sudden, I burst out.

Tim: Seiko Chan !! Seiko Chan !! Singapuru kara !
Seiko : Singapuru kara ???

I hold my flag real high up. Seiko saw.
Then Siu bee shouted, Hong Kong desu…

Seiko : Singapuru, Hong Kong desu ??
(Seiko is surprised that we are sitting together)

There is some noise at the background, but Seiko ask them to be quite and let us have a chance to talk.
I look at Siu Bee with my sparking "oki" eyes. I can't believe it, Seiko is giving us the attention. The spot light shone at us. Oh gosh !!!! I'm melting…..
We told Seiko that we came to Fukuoka just to see her. (Seiko is really delight & pleased - saying "arigato")
So Sui bee talk to Seiko and got her pie and I am waiting for mine too. I raise my hand like a schoolboy (hee…hee) asking for my permission to talk. Seiko acknowledge by knoding her head.

Tim : Will you be coming to Asia Concert this year ?
Seiko : I wish to
(Meaning to say, all the report is fake. There is no Asia Concert)

Tim: Do you know that there are many fans in Asia waiting for you and we
Love you.

I don't remember what Seiko said because I am too fascinated.
Seiko is really really kind. We spent about 5 magical mins with Seiko Chan.

Then after that, she sings another 1 - 2 songs and said goodbye to the crowd.
I thought the concert had ended. I said to Siu Bee, ikimasho (let's go)

Siu Bee : There is some more, 2 more songs.

This time I am really fool by Seiko Chan. All along I knew that there is 2 more songs (watched LD) before Seiko end her concert but this time I am being tricked by Seiko. I guess watching live is of different experience as compared to watching Laser Discs.

We clap and called out for SEIKO. She came out in another Kawaii Suit as usual. This time blond straight hair. Her suit all yellow with a big Sunflower at her dress. She ended her concert with 20th Party.

* Everybody
I sing you sing o ki na ko e de
We can sing ho la
I sing you sing SWEET na Memories
We can sing sa ah
Everybody singing all the night.

This is really a good song to end her concert. Everyone is dancing all the way….
Then out of sudden, there is lots of slivery colorful strips burst out from the stage. It is so beautiful…… kireii ne !!!! I reach out for it and managed to get quite a lot.

The funny thing is at the end of the concert, a few of the Japanese ladies gave their strips to us. I guess they must have welcome us !
Me and Siu Bee is indeed very happy desu.

We then rush out of the concert hall to buy some of her concert pictures. 500 yen for 4 pictures.

Well, I must say that if there is chance again next year 2002, I will definitely go again.

At the end of the 2nd night concert, I started to feel sick, then follow by fever.
I am just feeling very tired all of sudden, exhaustion. I shall name this fever as "Matsuda Fever".

( Seiko Chan, I Love You & thanks for the beautiful songs that you sang & the
Inspiration that you had given me. And if I had given a wish, I would wish that
I would like to go back to the 80s again. So that we can be young again.
Like back to the future )

Gambatte Ne !!

Shingapuru kara desu

A Special thanks to Mike, arigato !
