Sailor X Character Profiles
I decided that perhaps it would be a good idea to group all of
profiles of the characters from my Sailor X fanfic here in order
to make it easier to get to.
The Sailor Soldiers:
Sailor Mercury - Rachel Kyle
Sailor Venus - Brandy MacIntyre
Sailor Moon - Sandra Usagi*
Sailor Mars - Cassandra Von Drysen
Sailor Jupiter - Mariah Shipman
Sailor Saturn - Victoria Chapland
Sailor Uranus - Bethany Dell
Sailor Neptune - Melissa Stanley
Sailor Pluto - Vanessa Ramsey
Sailor Mercury -- Rachel Kyle
Rachel Kyle would be the absolute LAST person one would think would become a
Sailor Scout. Rachel grew up in a bad home, had a rotten life, and ended up
in jail at the age of 15. She was a repeat offender and ended up at the Tokyo
Detention Center at the age of 17.
At that point, the Luna Foundation stepped in, and interceded with the
authorities, who reluctantly agreed to release Rachel into their custody.
Rachel is the least heroic of the group...she does this "work" because
it beats being in jail or on the street. Serena and the other "elders",
as well as Sandra and Luna are attempting to get Rachel to see that there
is more to this "job", and more to her, than she sees.
As Sailor Mercury, Rachel strengthened the senshi powers through the force
of her personality. Since joining the group, she has added the Mercury Ice
Shard, and the Mercury Ice Javelin to Mercury's original attacks, making
her quite a much larger force to contend with than the original Sailor
Mercury was.
Rachel can be damn vindictive at times, and it takes all of Sandra's
patience to reign Rachel in. Part of this is due to the fact that early in
her career as Sailor Mercury, Rachel was attacked and possessed by a wraith-
shard of Queen Beryl. The result was that Sailor Mercury gained a new, but
addictive and deadly power, the Mercury Death Sphere. Recently, there have
been some concerted efforts to keep the wraith-shard at bay while restricting
Mercury's use of the Death Dome.
Sailor Mercury's Powers
Offensive Powers:
- MERCURY SHARD: A heavy shard of ice appears in Mercury's hand. She
then throws this at a target. It is a dangerous and potentially
deadly attack.
- MERCURY ICE BUBBLES FREEZE: Similar to the Mercury Bubbles Blast
attack, the target is surrounded by an envelope of extremely cold
air, making it difficult to concentrate.
- MERCURY DEATH DOME: No command words are used for this deadly attack.
Instead, a hummed tune is sung, and during the high note, the power
activates. A blue dome starts at Sailor Mercury and slowly expands,
with fast moving tentacle-like appendages swirling around the perimeter
of the dome. Anything caught within the dome, or by the appendages
is drained of all cohesive or life energy. The effect is nearly
instantaneous. (By SX17, Mercury had modified the power to activate with
the command phrase: Mercury Ice Shroud.)
Miscellaneous Powers:
- MERCURY BUBBLES BLAST: After the command words are spoken, a flood
of bubbles fills an area, rapidly turning into a dense fog.
Sailor Venus -- Brandy MacIntyre
Brandy MacIntyre is the daughter of Irish and German radicals. In fact, she
helped the elder Sailor Venus break up one of her father's fascist rallies,
an act which sent both of her parents into a German jail. Having no place to
go to, the elder Venus took Brandy in and later began to train her.
In many ways, Brandy is the direct opposite of Rachel and Sandra. She can be
quiite emotional and she shows concern for the welfare of her companions when
they are in the midst of addressing a problem.
Brandy looks alot like her mentor, with long blonde hair and blue eyes, and a
statuesque figure. The degree of confidence with which she carries herself
enhances her similarities with the elder Sailor Venus.
Like most of the other Sailors, Brandy as Sailor Venus has strengthened her
abilities, adding the Venus Whip and Venus Crucis attacks.
Sailor Venus' Powers
Offensive Powers:
- VENUS CRESCENT BEAM - SMASH: After shouting the command phrase,
Venus points, and a bright yellow beam is shot toward the target.
- VENUS LOVE CHAIN ENCIRCLE: Venus throws her hands down to her sides
and a chain of golden hearts begins to spiral around her. Her hair
stands stright up as she folds her arms across her chest, and spins
around slowly. At this point, Venus raises her hand in the air and
points from side to side. When she brings her arm down and points
at the target, the chain leaps out toward the enemy.
- VENUS WHIP: After shouting the command phrase, a short whiplike
field of energy appears in Venus's hand. With a flick of the wrist,
Venus can control the energy whip, which is extendable to some
distance and can grab onto objects.
- VENUS CRUCIS MAGIC: Sailor Venus throws her arsm out from her
sides, and a dull-yellow cross-shaped energy bolt appears in front
of her. The energy then shoots forward, rotating slowly as it does
so until it hits something.
Sailor Moon -- Sandra Tsukino
Sandra Usagi is the first child of the Neo-Queen Serenity (the second
being the sugary Chibusa). Sandra grew up at the Crystal Palace, where
she absorbed quite a bit of the court life.
Instead of letting court life go to her head, Sandra took the opportunity
to LEARN. She is as different from her mother, (although mom has mellowed
a bit) than black is from white. Sandra is FAR from a ditz. In fact, if
there are any complaints about Sandra, it is that she is TOO demanding of
the rest of the team.
As Sailor Moon, Sandra makes use of most of the original senshi powers. Most of
her abilities, with the exception of the little-used Moon Tiara Shard attack, are
simply variants of abilities her mother used as Sailor Moon.
She has developed a one-way telepathy which she uses mainly to relay
instructions to the rest of the group. Sailor Moon is thus one of the weakest
of the current senshi... again, she makes up for this with her leadership
skills.
The problem is that where Neo-Queen Serenity often wished she could be a normal
teenage girl during her adventures against the dark forces that threatened Earth,
Sandra has had much of her childhood taken from her by all of the training she
underwent to take her mother's place. So to her, being a superhero is normal.
However, her temperment is such that she is more inclined to punish criminals
rather than purify them.
Recent events have pushed Sailor Moon to the breaking point. Neo-Queen Serenity
was kidnapped by the Cybersailors and then subjected to an invasive cloning
process. Almost immediately after returning from Cyberworld, Serenity was
attacked and eventually killed by Nightmare. Although Amy was able to clone
Neo-Queen Serenity and restore her to life, Sandra blames herself for all of it.
Sailor Moon's Powers
Offensive Powers:
- MOON TIARA MAGIC: Sailor Moon pulls her tiara from her head and
balances it on her fingers. After spinning around once, She shouts
the command phrase and throws the tiara at the target.
- MOON TIARA SHARD MAGIC: While the process of using this attack
is exactly the same as for the normal tiara attack, as the tiara
is in the air heading toward the enemy, a show of small shuriken-
like projectiles is launched at the enemy.
- MOON ZERO MAGIC: Holding the Moon Staff in the air, Sailor
Moon shouts the command phrase, and a ball of destructive energy
forms at its top tip. As soon as enough energy builds, Sailor Moon
points the staff in the direction of the target, and the energy is
shot in that direction.
- MOON HEALING ACTIVATION: Sailor Moon holds the Moon Wand close
to her face, then traces a full-body circle with it. After this,
the target is showered with radiant light. The attack is used to
purify a villain.
Miscellaneous Powers:
- MOON STAFF: After the command words are spoken, a six-foot
wooden staff appears in her hand.
Sailor Mars -- Cassandra Von Drysen
Cassandra is similar to Sarena and Mina in a limited way...in that she acts
with her emotions more than she does with her head. Her rather flamboyant
personality makes her perfect for her role as Sailor Mars. Her inability to
clear the emotion from her thinking and see the more rational of options
sometimes gets Cassandra in trouble with Sandra, who is more logic-oriented.
Cassandra is also known as a bit of a ditz, although not as much as Sarena
can be, and she generallyis balanced out by the rest of the team.
Because of the similarities in their names, Cassandra often goes by the
nickname "Cass" or "Cassie".
As Sailor Mars, Cassandra has made a few changes to her senshi powers,
most notably the Firebolt attack, a slight improvement over Mars'
directed attacks of the past.
Sailor Mars' Powers
Offensive Powers:
- MARS FIRE IGNITE: Sailor Mars brings her hands
together and interlocks her fingers, except for her index
fingers, which she points to the sky. As she says the command
phrase, a ball of fire collects at her fingertips, which she
then aims and shoots at the enemy.
- MARS FIREBOLT BLAST: This attack is nearly identical to the
"Mare Fire Ignite" attack.
- MARS FIRESTORM FLASH: This attack is similar to the "Mars
Fire Ignite" attack except that a constant stream of fire is
thrown at the target.
- MARS FIREBIRD STRIKE: Sailor Mars uses a spirit paper and
wills it to become rigid. After she throws the paper at the
target, Mars uses the same procedure for the "Mars Fire Ignite"
attack, except in this case, when the above command phrase is
used, her fireball turns into a fiery bird that can hit the target.
- MARS CELESTIAL FIRE SURROUND: Sailor Mars traces a full-body
circle with her hand, leaving a trail of six circles within which
is a single kanji symbol. Mars brings her hands in front of her
body as the spheres gather toward her and are then shot forward
as six rings of fire.
Miscellaneous Powers:
- MARS PHOENIX: Perhaps one of the more complicated transformations
because it involved both Sailor Mars and her mentor. As Sailor Mars
pictures a phoenix in her mind, she shouts the command phrase and
is immediately surrounded by a torrent of fire. The elder Mars
shoots the younger Mars with a "Mars Fire Ignite" attack, and
the interaction of the two powers encases the younger Mars in a
coccoon. She soon breaks out of the coccoon and has access to her
more powerful attacks.
Sailor Jupiter -- Mariah Shipman
No information is yet available on how Mariah became a Sailor. However, she is
a solid member of the group, and she has saved the lives of her team-mates on
occasion.
Mariah is alot like her mentor. Both she and Lita are tomboys, both are into
several "guy-oriented" hobbies, and both tend to be rugged and tough in battle.
Mariah however has also shown a great capacity for empathy, which sometimes
balances out Sandra's all-business demeanor.
Sailor Jupiter's Powers
Offensive Powers:
- JUPITER THUNDER CRASH: Sailor Jupiter crosses her arms over
her chest with her index and pinky fingers extended. After the
command phrase is shouted, a miniture lightning rod extends
upward from the front of her tiara, and it collects a torrent
of electricity, which Jupiter then gathers into a ball and
hurls at the target.
- JUPITER THUNDER DRAGON: This attack sequence is the same as
the "Jupiter Thunder Crash" attack, except that the ball of
electricity flows into the shape of a dragon.
- JUPITER GRAVITON POWER: Sailor Jupiter concentrates on
channelling the forces around her, then shouts the command
phrase. This attack is invisible, but consists of a force
wave that Jupiter can direct at a target.
Miscellaneous Powers:
- JUPITER TELEPORTATION MAGIC: Sailor Jupiter joins hands with
those she wants to transport, then shouts the command phrase.
Sailor Saturn -- Victoria Chapland
No information is available yet.
Sailor Uranus -- Bethany Dell
No information is available yet.
Sailor Neptune -- Melissa Stanley
No information is available yet.
Sailor Pluto -- Vanessa Ramsey
Vanessa was the very young when she was adopted by Sailor Pluto and raised at the Crystal Palace. Sharon taught Vanessa the means to control the Timegate and was the first to propose the "new generation" of senshi to Sarena so that the elders could do other duties, or get on with their own pursuits.
The powers of the Timegate affected Vanessa deeply. Her once-long flowing brown hair is now pale silver from exposure to the null fields of the portal. Because of the intimate knowledge of the ways of time which are necessary to operate the portal and serve as an effective guardian of time, Vanessa is the most educated, most intelligent of the senshi. Unfortunately, she is quick to take offense when someone shows ignorance or contempt for her intellect. Because of her duties, Vanessa is a reclusive, closed person who doesn't reach out much, and
does not like others attempting to reach in to her.
As Sailor Pluto, Vanessa is a minor figure because her powers are so
specialized. Her powers include the use of null devices, which
allow the senshi to operate outside the timestream for short amounts of time, if needed.
