Wycliffe HC loses 2-0 Catherine jams her big toe

SBC Gym—On January 28, Mount Currie House Church soundly whipped Wycliffe House Church in a best-of-three volleyball match. Led by celebrated coach Ahra Cho, Mount Currie HC gained an early lead in the first two games and never looked back.
Wycliffe HC had trouble even figuring out which side of the court they were supposed to be on. Catherine Lee, Wycliffe's fearless leader, was searching for answers after the tough loss.
"Yeah, we could have tried harder, I know, but volleyball is just not our thing," she said.
In addition to losing the match, Wycliffe HC suffered multiple injuries. Henry Ahn said he "felt sore" after just one game, and Catherine jammed the big toe on her right foot.
"I knew I should have trimmed my toenails before the game, but I didn't think it would make such a big difference," Catherine admitted. "The jumping is what did it—my toenail kept ramming into the front of my shoe. Afterwards, it just hurt to even walk."
Although it has been more than a month since the injury, there are little signs of improvement. Catherine's toe is as purple as ever. But she is hopeful that the color will fade with time.
"I don't want my toe to be purple forever! I'll just have to soak it in warm water, and make sure that my toenails are neatly trimmed all the time, even if we're not playing volleyball," she said.
With Henry and Catherine both on the DL, will Wycliffe be ready for the next volleyball challenge?
Replied Catherine: "I think we'll stick with shooting pool."
