our bodies come in many shapes, sizes, and colors.  we are told that "they" are our temples.  we are also told not to covet or desire.  but, if someone's heathier, smarter, more emotionally "together", isn't it the same thing?  if someone has a characteristic better or more enhanced than one's one...good for them, and let it be inspirational for you.  see through the camoflage and "be all that you can be".  of course, somedays...just be.  ha.

Chiropractic.  Smoke and mirrors?  Nope, it really works!  School is fairly tough, with tons of physical exam, x-ray, nutrition, basic sciences, and adjustment classes.  Some of the basic belliefs...."above down inside out"...ie must fix the root, (go to the roots, the ganglion, the brain, the spinal cord...oh, yeah...what's housed in those???  THE NERVOUS SYSTEM.  If it's not functioning properly...tick-tock, tick tock....the nasty disease process will set in.  SCARY!!!  Want more info?  Feel free to ask me any ?s.  If I can not answer them, I most likely will know someone that can.

Wanna get high?  hey, go exercise.  It's my drug of choice!  I love releasing those natural endorphins, the change in respiration, the quickening......the feeling of soft pain or tight muscles the next day after lifting or heavy cardio.  Body fat testing was/is all the rage ...but there are several cheap, quick and easy things to substitue.  1) Can you pinch an inch?  (please no sex jokes about this??)
                2) Does your body please you?  If you close your eyes...does it feel firm and supple?
                3) If you jump up and down in front of a mirror nude, do you reverberate?
There are many great and not so great sites on the Net....but start with the great ones.  Of course, do what works for you.

Weightlifting can produce the fastest physical results of any activity, increase bone density, and increase your strength.  I feel that my mind is at it's purest when I am lifting.   I believe mental stress is the worst of all.  Physical activity can bring comfort  via focus on a completely different aspect, release of endorphins,  increase of the "good" cholesterol....hence help in preventing heart attacks.

I've worked in all phases of cardiac rehab (post myocardial infarction stuff) and found several key things among my former patients.  Many of them were of normal weigtht, even thin.  Many were women.  Most had active lives, many happy lives.  I truly believe that their (heart) condition was exacerbated by the way they handled mental stress.   Their post hospital rehab involved thrice weekly exercising...milld yoga/strecthing, 30 minutes of cardio, with many lifting weights.  oh, and did I mention socialization?

They also (usually) interacted extremely well, and were for the most part quite extroverted.  I guess once  people are face with death, they learn to appreciate their life as well as other people a tad more.  As a species, we are a very social creature.  We love to watch and be watched.  Oh, and going back to my original point (hey, I'm Southern...I'm long winded)....lifting weights can make one more pleasant to be looked upon!

I started college at age 14...well technically it was a canoeing course, and I did not take any college level academica til the ripe age of 16.  Anyway, I began paddling at 14, and have loved it ever since.  I have not paddled in 3 years.  Hopefully,  that will change. soon!
Whitewater ranges from level I to level VI (which is suicide).  Oh, I raft the more difficult classes.  Yes, it's the easy way out, but when you rarely get to dip your oar......
