    STATIONERY
    These are the stationery that accompany my manga book.
    They can also be enjoyed as original illustration art.
    Letter size A4. 1997-1998. Sold at Comic World 8 & 9 (1999), AX 2001.
    The sky blue swordsman with peony tattoo is original by me, drawn in the winter of 1997.
    If you see similar designs elsewhere with any flower tattoo on a character's back, in any color, elsewhere at a convention, well... it might just be inspired by this particular work. ^_^
    

    
    DETAIL OF STATIONERY
    Here's a detail of Tzi-Quai's peony tattoo. Ice-blue cold.
    I suppose this is a rather EROTIC gesture, but Quai had the tattoo done as a display of loyalty.
    The Peony is the National Flower of China, and is the Imperial Crest of the Dynasty.
    Mandarin Peony is also my favorite flower, and is nurtured right here in my own front yard.

    His tattoo crawls all over his back and extend over the right arm.
    The choice of a flower motif for a male, is unusual. But this is just part of Lord Quai's eccentric ways.
    Merciless, cruel yet having this obsessive devoted side to him, which is the visual paradox of a bloodthirsty
    warrior reciting poetry? (YAOI AESTHETICISM #1)

    ADDITIONAL REMARK
    I actually tattooed the design onto the drawing. Needle by Needle. Nib by Nib.
    Mind you, it took me hours. Then more hours to screentone shade it. Talk about PAIN, PAIN, PAIN.
    (Look here, T-Q, you had better appreciate what your creator sacrificed timewise, cut that obnoxious arrogant
    attitude of yours. I can KO your character just as easily as you can KO your rivals. ^_^ )

    For those of you at AX this year,
    might have seen me briefly at the
    Artist Alley. Coronation Saga -
    manga now available in English.
    40 pages + stationery set.

    My apology to the nice people
    who requested artwork, but I was
    not able to sit in Sunday. My
    schedule depends on the friend
    whom I was staying with. I leave
    that night for New York right after.

    Yup. I haven't forgotten.
    But I figure Yuki Kaori's original art
    is so much better than mine, anyway.
    ^_^ I still have the 3 cards.

    p.s. Thank you for the Masquerade tickets! I originally wanted to do
    Cain and Riff for you as a thank-you,
    but ran out of time Sunday. Still,
    really appreciate your help.

    Meanwhile, I would have to
    practice drawing Riff for ya.
