THE SAGA
It all began during the late
summer of 1988, The group in the forming, joined HLCC as First Year B. Com students.
Everyone came from different background. Except Ali, Manish and Mihir, all the boys were
from Gujarati medium. All female members were however from English medium. The first year
saw cluster of small individual groups. Things changed from Second Year. The group informally,
was trying to help Ali win the CR post, challenging Terrance. In sudden development, Ali
defeated him and was selected as General Secretary to represent the college.
This had a big impact on the group.
Though already it had taken the shape, from second year we started meeting frequently.
Till then standing by the professorfs cars or under
tree, We needed some fixed place to sit and chat. We found ideal place in the form of
Gymkhana. The place famous for nice view of the historical HL cricket Ground, also hosted
Table Tennis room. The group sat on the rolled mats (used for Cricket matches) and spent
best time of their life enjoying their present and preparing themselves for the future.
Third Year saw the ties getting even
deeper and the group was getting famous within the college. These three years had its own
charm as it gave all of us a great deal of confidence. We had gone to several Navaratris,
Picnics, celebrated each othersf birthday all with
great zeal and together. It was a morale boosting that everyone passed with good marks and
were on their way to start their new life with lots of hope and enthusiasm.
Manish was first to start the journey as he flew to
Middle-East, Most of the guys opted for CA studies and worked hard to achieve their Goal.
Initial two-three years were still extension of the good old student days, things started
to change as we found that challenges of higher studies or work need more attention. Even
though meeting on the weekends or weekdays nights continued.
