----------------------------------------------------------------- Team Rules for Street Fighter: The Storyteller game. By Ed Hrzic ----------------------------------------------------------------- These are some rules to use in team-games of Street Fighter, conforming to games that have used teams in them -- 'The King of Fighters' and 'X-Men vs. Street Fighter.' The rules below will allow you to use these types of teams games. TWO-ON-TWO -- 'X-Men vs. Street Fighter' ----------------------------------------------------------------- This system is based upon the concept that there are two teams of two members (sometimes less). Each team selects who will go first, and then the individuals battle it out. Due to the nature of this team game, the regulation time limit is extended from ten (10) rounds to twenty (20). Many times, tournaments increase the time limit even further, or declare a time-less bout. At any given time (i.e. forfeiting an attack for a turn), the current fighter may "tag" (signal to) her teammate to take her place. If the teammate has been knocked unconscious, the current fighter cannot tag-out. The fighter who is currently "tagged-out" will regain 1 Health level for every 2 rounds that she remains out of action. This does not apply to fighters who have been knocked unconscious (i.e. when they're knocked out, they are knocked OUT). A team wins when both of the opposing team's members are K.O.ed. ================================================================= THREE-ON-THREE -- 'The King of Fighters' ----------------------------------------------------------------- The King of Fighters tournament is based upon the concept that there are two teams that battle each other, each with no more than three members (sometimes less for masochistic or extremely powerful fighters). Each team selects who will go first, second, and finally, third. The first individuals then battle it out, with the standard regulation time limit of ten (10) rounds. The object is to knock the other out in the shortest possible time. The benefits of of knocking the opponent out early is that one non-aggravated Health level is restored per two (2) rounds that were remaining when the opponent was knocked out, rounding down. For example, if there were 5 rounds remaining, you would restore 2 Health levels. Then, the winner fights the second person of the opposing team, and so on. This team fighting is the best out of one, meaning whoever knocks her opponent out continues until she is K.O.ed. A team wins when all of the opposing team's members have been knocked out. ================================================================= DRAWS -- Draws are handled differently in team play. If two fighters knock each other out, or both have the same Health reamining at the end of the time limit, both fighters are disqualified (no rematch), and the next two fighters commence. If one team has no fighters left, while the other team has at least one member left, the team with with remaining member wins.
