----------------------------------------------------------------- CREATING A HERO QUEST CLASS/TEMPLATE Written by Ed Hrzic ----------------------------------------------------------------- This file gives you some generic rules on how to create a character template for use in Milton Bradley's fantasy board game, "Hero Quest". ----------------------------------------------------------------- All templates begins with a base of 15 character points to distribute between attributes and abilities. Some statistics must have a minimum attribute; you must pay the minimum cost for that attribute. 1. MAIN ATTRIBUTES: Attack Dice: 1 cp per 1 die (min.1, max.4) (assign appropriate weapon for attack die number) Defend Dice: 1 cp per 1 die (min.1, max.4) Body: 1 cp per Body point (min.4, max.10) Mind: 1 cp per Mind point (min.2, max.8) 2. SECONDARY ATTRIBUTES: Movement Dice: 1 cp per extra movement die over the intial two movement dice (max.4) Magical Spells: 1 cp per each Elemental Category (max.3) 3. SPECIAL ABILITIES: Disarm Traps: 1 cp; follow rules as the 'Dwarf' Backstab: 2 cp; only with a dagger or short sword and no armor. effective attack dice is multiplied by two. Charm: 2 cp; the enemy must immediately roll 1 red die. if it is a 4-6, nothing happens. otherwise, the monster is stunned for 1 red die worth of turns. may not attack or move, but defends at full. Turn Undead: 2 cp; all undead enemies in line-of-sight must roll 1 red die. on a roll of less than 5, the enemy must back 2 spaces away from the turner. On a roll of 1, the undead is destroyed instead. Regeneration: 3 cp; at the beginning of your turn, roll 1 red die. if it is a 5-6, you heal 1 Body point. does not work if your Body points are 0. 4. LIMITATIONS: 1 extra cp per limitation (i.e. cannot use certain weapons, etc.) 5.
