Meet Frost

BLADE must confront his ultimate adversary, the omnipotent vampire overlord Deacon Frost intent on leading a secret nation to conquer mankind. BLADE must use his awesome powers and razor-sharp weaponry like never before to prevent the annihilation of the human race.

STEPHEN DORFF [ Frost ] is one of the most respected young actors in Hollywood. Upcoming, he will star in Entropy, opposite Lauren Holly. In the film, Dorff plays a man who is directing a documentary about the rock band U2 and undergoes a personal meltdown.

Dorff first garnered critic and audience attention for his convincing performance as Stuart Sutcliffe in Ian Softley's Backbeat, which opened the 1994 Sundance Film Festival. Produced by Stephen Woolley, Backbeat tells the story of Sutcliffe's close friendship with John Lennon and his love affair with German photographer Astrid. Dorff also received critical acclaim for his portrayal of Candy Darling in the film I Shot Andy Warhol.

Most recently, he starred in Blood and Wine with Jack Nicholson, and in City of Industry opposite Harvey Keitel. Additionally, he starred in the satiric commentary S.F.W., and in Patrick DeWolf's Innocent Lies with Gabrielle Anwar and Adrian Dunbar.

Recipient of the prestigious 1992 Male Star of Tomorrow Award from the National Association of Theater Owners, Dorff was chosen from over 2,000 young men around the world who auditioned for the coveted film role of PK in John Avildsen's The Power of One. He underwent a strenuous seven week physical training program and mastered an authentic accent to play the young Afrikaner who learns to fight for his principles in an apartheid-crippled South Africa.

The ulimate vampire hunter, BLADE, has the powers of an immortal, the soul of a human and the heart of a hero. It is up to him to use his awesome strength and razor sharp weaponry to prevent the annihilation of the human race.

WESLEY SNIPES [ Blade / Producer ] has established himself as one of the most versatile actors in the entertainment industry for his numerous starring roles in action adventures and thrillers, as well as comedies and dramas. He has starred opposite such noted actors as Robert De Niro and Sean Connery and worked with some of the most prolific producers and directors in film.

Recently, Snipes received an honorary doctorate from his alma mater SUNY/Purchase, and on August 21, 1998, he will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his outstanding achievements in film.

Snipes' first feature role in Wildcats, starring Goldie Hawn, began what would become a succession of box-office hits for the actor, securing his position as a leading man in Hollywood.

He has starred in such popular films as Mo' Better Blues and the romantic drama Jungle Fever for Spike Lee. His most recognizable role, perhaps, is for his portrayal of the brilliant drug lord Nino Brown in New Jack City.

Snipes has continued to showcase his broad range as a dramatic and comedic actor, while his role in the action/adventure film Passenger 57 featured his martial arts expertise.

He starred opposite Sylvester Stallone in Demolition Man and portrayed an LAPD special detective in Rising Sun, with Sean Connery. He then re-teamed with New Jack City scribe Barry Michael Cooper for Sugar Hill.

His other film credits include the action adventure Drop Zone and To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar, in which he displayed an entirely different side of himself. In 1995, he teamed again with Woody Harrelson for Money Train and in 1996, Snipes starred opposite Robert De Niro in the action thriller The Fan.

Recently, Snipes starred in Mike Figgis' dramatic tale of infidelity One Night Stand, for which he won the Best Actor Volpi Cup at the Venice Film Festival. He also starred opposite Tommy Lee Jones in US Marshals, the highly anticipated sequel to the box-office hit The Fugitive.

Snipes is a trained martial artist and a student of Capoeria (an African/Brazilian martial art).

Meet Whistler

Abraham Whistler rescued Blade from the street and enlisted him in the war against Deacon Frost and his legion of blood-thirsty disciples. Guardian and fellow vampire hunter, Whistler acts as BLADE's mentor.

KRIS KRISTOFFERSON [ Whistler ] is a Hall of Fame singer-songwriter, actor and political activist. He starred in the Academy Award nominated Lone Star for John Sayles. Upcoming, he will star in John Sayles' new feature, Limbo, as well as Soldiers' Daughters Never Cry, opposite Barbara Hershey, which opens this fall.

Among his additional film credits, he starred in Martin Scorcese's Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, The Sailor Who Fell From Grace With The Sea, Semi-Tough with Burt Reynolds and Convoy for Sam Peckinpah.

A landmark in Kristofferson's film career was playing a doomed rock star in A Star is Born with Barbra Streisand, for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe Award as Best Actor. He later starred in Roll Over with Jane Fonda, Michael Cimino's epic film Heaven's Gate, Trouble in Mind and one of his favorites, Songwriter, with his compadre Willie Nelson. Recently, he starred as Abraham Lincoln in the Family Channel's "Tad."

Kristofferson began his acting career in 1971 with the film Cisco Pike, starring Gene Hackman, and followed with such hits as Blume In Love, Pat Garrett and Billy The Kid.

A much sought-after concert performer, Kristofferson has clocked well over a million miles on his tour bus since 1970, singing his hit songs such as "Me and Bobby McGee," "Help Me Make It Through The Night," "For The Good Times," "Loving Her Was Easier" and "Why Me," to name a few. His song, "Sunday Morning Coming Down," won 1970's Country Music Song of the Year award, and Kristofferson received the Songwriter of the Year Award. He has since been named to the Songwriter's Hall of Fame and has had his songs recorded by hundreds of major artists.

Kristofferson has toured several months a year for the past 20 years with his band, and he has toured as part of The Highwaymen with longtime friends Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings. His latest album, "A Moment of Forever," is produced by Don Was.

Meet Karen

Karen Jenson is the spirited young hematologist who becomes Blade's steadfast ally, and whose friendship illustrates Blade's commitment to mankind.

N'BUSHE WRIGHT [ Karen ] made an impressive debut with her first film Zebrahead, a 1992 release in which she portrayed a Detroit inner-city teen in the midst of a stormy interracial relationship. Following the success of that film, Wright starred in Boaz Yakin's Fresh, and she was asked by the American Film Institute to star as Loretta, one of the first black opera singers, in the 1950's period film The Swing.

Wright returned to the big screen in another emotionally charged leading role in Dead Presidents, directed by the Hughes brothers (Menace II Society). Among her other film credits are His & Hers and Love Changes.

Wright's noteworthy guest performances on television, such as her portrayal of the straight-A student Claudia on the television series "I'll Fly Away," landed her a regular spot on the Barry Levinson series, "Homicide."

Meet Quinn

Deacon Frost's loyal vampire heavy, Quinn threatens to put a stop to BLADE before he gets to Frost.

DONAL LOGUE [ Quinn ] has appeared in a variety of feature films, including The Thin Red Line, Metro, Dear God, Jerry Maguire, Diabolique, Eye For An Eye, Disclosure, Little Women, Miami Rhapsody and Heaven and Earth, among many others. His television credits include the CBS series "Public Morals," "Northern Exposure," as well as "The X-Files" and "Gun."

In addition, he has appeared on stage in the productions "Be Bop a Lula," "The Comedy of Errors" and "Curse of the Starving Class."

Meet Dragonetti

The leader of the House of Erebus, Dragonetti is reluctant to let Deacon Frost turn the vampire society upside down in his fulfillment of the "Blood Tide."

UDO KIER [ Dragonetti ] was most recently seen in the film Armageddon, featuring an all-star cast including Bruce Willis, Liv Tyler and Ben Affleck. His additional film credits include Wim Wenders' The End of Violence, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Even Cowgirls Get the Blues, My Own Private Idaho, Prince Valiant, Pinnochio, Breaking the Waves, Johnny Mnemonic and Barb Wire.

Kier has amassed a strong international following having starred in many international films for such reknowned directors as Wim Wenders and Fassbinder. He was also Andy Warhol's Dracula and Frankenstein in the artist's cult '70s classics.

Kier has guest starred on numerous television series, including "Viper," "The Sentinel," "Bridges" and "Sea Quest."

Meet Mercury

ARLY JOVER [ Mercury ] marks her debut in an American feature film with Blade. Originally from Spain, she has starred in such acclaimed international films as Tango for director Antonio Aloy, and The Ballad of Johnny/Jane for director Adelle Bertei-Cecchi.
