ARTHUR -- Son of Fiona.
"Konrad said he might be unpleasant to me, but he's actually been very nice...very welcoming. I like him. I hope he doesn't go crazy like the last king."
CASSILDA, her 'aunt' -- Former Queen of Yhtill.
"Always so serious...always so quiet...never letting out what she feels.... Konrad told me what happened...how her children died and she was trapped in Hell for centuries.... I want to like you, Cassilda, but I can't like someone who won't share her heart with me."
CHADWICK -- Son of Flora and Chadwick Moore II.
"When we met at the ball, he asked Talia about me...ignoring the fact that I was right there, and talked about me in the third person. I curtseyed and left; the whole scene was being to remind me one of those awful parent-teacher conferences that Konrad forced me to sit through. Maybe it's 'appropriate' in Amber to do that, but I thought he was being a dork."
CORWIN, her great-grandfather -- Son of Oberon.
"Don't hold things against you!? Poor Corwin...I'm not Talia, nor Lorian neither. We will have a lot of fun together...once we've got over being hurt by those we love."
DANA -- Daughter of Dierdre.
"Thank God...one normal person in the bunch. She didn't ask me probing, uncomfortable questions...she smiled when the others smirked...and she seemed sincerely friendly. I think I should try to know her better; she could be fun. I wonder if she likes hunting...."
IRIS, her friend -- Daughter of Random and Vialle.
"You were supposed to show me around the castle...we would have been great friends...but now I am in Amber preparing for your funeral.... I'm so sorry, Iris, that I didn't know you better."
KONRAD, her father -- Son of Kianne and Karl (Hastur).
"Why did you leave me, Konrad? I've never needed you so much as I need you now...now that I'm in Amber all alone. I don't think I've ever been so alone as now, surrounded by my entire family."
LORIAN -- Daughter of Moire and Corwin.
"I didn't like her when I first met her...sticking her nose in to ruin my perfect moment with Corwin, and here she is again, asking me intrusive questions when I'm still recovering from the death of my father. I wonder if I could do something to teach Little Miss Snoopy to mind her own damn business...."
NICHOLAS, her father -- Son of Talia and Drakula (Amon).
"Father...yes...but so strange, so angry. I love you, Nicholas, but you scare me. Maybe it's for the best that they keep you locked away, at least until you're better."
MERLIN -- Son of Dara and Corwin. A prince in Amber and Emperor of Chaos.
"I find it very hard to remember that he is the Emperor of Chaos...he doesn't act like an emperor. Of course, how should an emperor act? Anyway...he doesn't seem very...commanding...or even intimidating. I wonder if this is why Nicholas feels he could take the throne from him...?"
QUYNN -- Son of Albrecht and Marian (Benedict's daughter).
"Just like father said, he was the first to try to be really nice to me. But he stinks of demons...just like Nicholas...and just like the one who kidnapped me. I want nothing to do with a man who consorts with monsters."
TALIA, her grandmother -- Daughter of Corwin and Selene Bacquillinor.
"Konrad was wrong about her, and so was Nicholas. She's not evil, nor overbearing, and doesn't seem too crazy. She is, however, a pain in the butt. I think if I'm going to have any real fun in Castle Amber, I'll need to find a way to keep her ever-so-vigilant gaze elsewhere. Given what's up with Corwin, that shouldn't be hard...."
XAVIER, her friend -- Son of Merlin and Isabella.
"So here I am stuck in Amber, and my only friend is exactly on the opposite end of all reality. How like a boy to be so inconvenient. And you never did give me back that card I swiped from Cassilda...!"
