Ullysia is an important nation in northern Cassenland, although it has declined in importance under the rule of several weak Emperors. In order to gain its lost prestige, Emperor Adrian is preparing a massive campaign to recover the former Cassenddian colonies of Llaren, Seagate, Watersdowne and West Avallon. Ullysia is split up into 12 provinces not including the Imperial Dominion of Stephanopolis and the Typhoon Isles), each ruled by an Imperial Governor.
Emperor Adrian reigns from the Trident Throne in Stephanopolis. The banner of Ullysia is a red trident against a field of golden yellow and the empire consists of 12 provinces in addition to the Typhoon Isles and the Imperial Dominion (Stephanopolis and Balsi).
Geography: Ullysia is the largest nation in the Northlands. The northeastern third of the country is an arid desert along the Marvent coast. There is much lush farmland near Stephanopolis and to the southwest, as well as along the Koussi Kebir and its tributaries. The mountains to the south (the Needles) are heavily mined.
Climate: Because Ullysia is such a large country, it covers a wide variety of climates.
History:
756 Pd - Ullysia is founded when several tribes got together and elected a Caliph. The present Emperor is a direct descendant of the Caliph.

558-612 Fd - The great war between Ullysia and Karming.
731 Fd - Great Desert War; Ullysian colonies in southern Cassenland rebelled and broke away from the Empire as internal conflicts forced the Emperor to concede defeat.
1188 Fd - Ullysia prepares invade Seagate and the Uhlmanite territories.
Politics: The Eternal Empire of Ullysia is an absolute monarchy that is led by Emperor Adrian, and the military and provincial governments are, in most cases, fiercely loyal to him. The Empire is divided up into twelve provinces, in addition to the Typhoon Isles and the Imperial Dominion (Stephanopolis and Balsi). The provinces are: Brijane, Centari, El Aiadun, Irgantii, Maradah, Megiaer, Nephallis, Qattara, Rammadia, Tamanar, Teleman, and Wahran.
Each province is governed by a provincial governor and appropriate bureaucracy and supported by the provincial militia. Units of the regular Army are also stationed throughout the Empire. In Stephanopolis, the Emperor is advised by the Council of Nobles. Each noble family is allowed one representative in the Council. The noble families are all true-bloods, meaning that they are descended from original members of the Empire's founding clan. As a result, the true-bloods are above the Empire's strict laws and are subject only to the true-blood's code of honor.
Military Units: The huge Ullysian military complex is divided up into Legions, each containing at least ten hammers A hammer is made up of 120 Lancers, divided into 6 companies of 20 Lancers each; there are 4 main assault companies, 1 reserve company, and a command company. The common soldier is known as a Lancer.
