During the Age of the Successionist Empires, Karming was the center for a tremendous nation stretching from the Western Ocean to the Crystal Myst Mountains and from the Dangaard mountains to present-day Zakhar. After the empire’s resources were devastated in the War of the Successionist Empires, the fringe lands began to break off, and in 622 Fd, Sancerre, Shennendam, Faldaea (present-day Abbysinia), and Medinine all declared their independence, dealing a great blow to the empire.
Geography: mostly flat river delta with deep forests in the north; Darkhart Forest to he north; Mystmarshes along the eastern shore of Rydel River and Karming Reach; The northern country breeds a lot of horses.
History: 2 Pd - Thorien Kyrell and the Twelve Companions reappear in the plains between Karming and present-day Pummelford with the good dragons and begin to drive the evil dragons back;

Politics: Karming was originally (and nominally still is) an empire, ruled by the Emperor of the Marvent. After Emperor Timitrios Spartakos died heirless in 875 Fd, right around the same time as … seceded from the Empire, a junta of major nobles siezed power, claiming to be waiting for the next Emperor. However, these …Lords of the Council; headed by the High Lord of the Marvent. The rulers of the Districts in the old Empire were Patricians. When the four Lords of the Council were killed in the Greenseve Massacre, High Lord Jeraeme had the full support of the military immediately, to quell any civil disturbances. Many high political positions are filled with military officers and the officer cadre is very loyal to High Lord Jeraeme.

Innspa - town on the Pummelford road at the junction with a north-south road;
Karming - a major seaport on the Marvent Sea; capitol of the Karmani Empire; home of the University of the Marvent; lots of horse racing with horses from the northern part of the country. Many nobles have summer villas in the north where they breed horses. The city of Karming has nine gates, one of which is the easternmost, called the Beyward Gate. It is cursed. If you pass through the gate coming into the city, nothing will happen, but if you go out of the city through that gate, it is said that you or someone close to you will die within the year.
