Geography: There are four principle towns on the Frisian Coast; Bournemouth is a small fishing town on the mouth of the Bourne River; Caidiff is a small fishing town famous for its castle; Dorin-town is them major regional center for the Frisian Coast; and Rhyl is a small town ruled by the mad Earl Bonovar.

History:
Politics: Most people living on the Coast are just trying not to be noticed by the powerful nations around them. Of course, there is the typical small-town politics and bickering, too.

Gran Lausanne lies at the head of Raxel Bay and is well-known for its dwarven woodwork, mages' guild, and horrible, dark, vile creatures that are said to inhabit the caves southwest of the town.

Geography: Because Raxel Bay was formed at the same time that evil Xar Toreth was swallowed by the earth, many vile, dark creatures inhabit the caves southwest of Gran Lausanne. Attacks on ships and merchant caravans are rare but unspeakably horrible.

History:
Politics: Gran Lausanne is headed by a four-member council known as the Quadrate. All of its members were elected as heroes after the Short War with Chalteran; now they are all aged and indecisive. The County is rather odd in that the title of Count goes along with the Mayor and is not hereditary. The Mayor/Count is elected every 8 years and the next election will be in 1190 Fd. Tranver Rasingen is old, feeble, and set in his ways and faces some competition from a group of younger townspeople under Almo Tarreth who want a more active role for the town in world politics.

Military Units: 4,125 total forces
Gran Lausanne has a standing Town Militia of 500 whose primary duty is to keep the peace inside the town walls. The household guard of Count Tranver, 50 footmen, also helps in this task. The small dwarven enclave has a small militia of its own totalling 75, which is supplimented by several excellent dwarven engineers and sappers. In addition, the provisional forces that can be called upon, numbering approximately 3,500 light infantry, are all required to dedicate three weeks to training every year.
