Abbysinia is located east of Freuhaven, along the wide, fertile valley of the River Falen. It is made up of independent towns and villages, the chief of which are Falmouth, Klandelberg, Rodenhafen, and South Keep. Abbysinia was ravaged terribly during the Dark Wars and is now only starting to recover from its wounds.
Geography: The Wylkwood covers most the southeastern third of the nation and is bordered on all sides but the south by the River Falen. At Klandelberg, the River Falen splits in two directions -- the main branch which continues southeast to Pummelford, and the Black Fork, which flows from the east and Kammerander. The Plains of Asmmard lie between Freuhaven and Klandelberg, while the Coastal Plains are south of Freuhaven.
History:
446 Pd - establishment of Abbysaenia as a province of the Issachar Empire including Kammerander and Swordslands
558-612 Fd - War of the Successionist Empires
622 Fd - The province seceded from the Karmani Empire, and the province fragmented
721-734 Fd - Mebraam's Reign of Terror
1179-83 Fd - Dark Wars, Roderic, Count Agnesi planned the push back to Eastfair, but was killed during the goblins' first counterattack at Black Mountain. After his death the attack fell apart, and the combined armies retreated back to Norduhlheim Keep. The fragmented forces of Abbysinia were not strong enough to resist the humanoid invasion, and only with a joint Cassendian-Marblehead relief army were the Witchlord's armies driven back in 1182.
Politics: Lord Helversen has obvious territorial ambitions towards South Keep and Falmouth and eventually all of Abbysinia. Lord Mentzner is old and in poor health. Viscountess Faldemae has been forced into an alliance with Freuhaven to defend herself against The Witchlord in Kammerander.
